Half way to Goal Hell Yeah

Recommended Posts

We as of today's visit to the Dr Office I am halfway to my goal. So I started at 330 pounds on January 11th, and today I was at 265. 65 pounds in just under six months. I actually went in for a small un-fill because I am leaving on a 14 day Alaskan trip and I wanted to be able to eat a little bit. I almost kissed the nurse who was weighing me in. Boy that would have been a awkward moment.

You know there have been many times I have felt like a complete failure, and so frustrated because I work so hard at times, and sabotage myself at others. Lately I especially felt like the scales were not moving at all. But when I got on the scale and realized I had lost 20 pounds since May 14th I finally felt like i really could succeed.

I reached halfway too a few days ago and it is an indescribable feeling. I had high hopes for the Band (and myself) when I started this journey, but now I think I finally believe that I will reach my goal.

Congrats!!! Looking forward to seeing you, and all of the New Year's Knockouts, at the finish line.

Congrats-- good job! I still have a ways to go to get to the half-way point, but I feel like it's in sight. Have fun on vacation. We went in early June and those "liquid calories" really are a hindrance, but in the past I would have gained 10 pounds and this year I pretty much stayed the same.

That is awesome! I am certain the nurse gets that a lot, being that she weights people in who are losing weight!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
