Riverside County?

Recommended Posts

I am an Orange County Transplant now living in South Corona. I lived in Riverside in the late 80's while I attended college at UCRiverside. Where are you in Riverside?

I live off of the 91 @ Van Buren. My surgery is scheduled for July 9th! Its nice to find someone local. I had a consult with Dr. Naim, but my insurance wouldn't cover surgery with his facility.

Where are you having your surgery? Wow, the 9th is soooooo close. I am having my pre-op on the 10th and surgery on the 11th.

I originally went to Dr. Naim/Dr. Omidi's office in Beverly Hills for a Lap Band seminar and while fighting with my insurance company with two appeals I had a MAJOR nose reconstruction done with Dr. Omidi. As you can see by my photo, it was quite a large nose...now it is small and in proportion with my face...lol! They are very kind there and I am sorry you could not join me. I am sure you found a great surgeon as there are so many here in Southern California, it is very hard to choose.

I found a great doctor @ UCI Medical Center. His name is Dr Reavis.

I was originally sent to see Dr. Reavis, but he was not covered by my insurance, so they gave me Dr. Nyguen (strange, considering they are in the same office) I had my surgery on June 9.... I live in Riverside as well in the La Sierra area. Hope all is going well for you!!

Hello Everyone!

There is a really good support group in Rancho Cucamonga. Its held the second Monday and the fourth Thursday of each month.

Its held at Rancho Specialty Hospital off Haven and Spruce if you're familiar with the area.

My sister had her Gastric Bypass in June there with Dr. Milton Owens. I am so proud of her! She has lost over 50 pounds so far and she is scrambling to get some new clothes! Thanks goodness Dr. Owens's group at Rancho has a great clothing exchange! Now she can go and get a whole new wardrobe!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
