Hello everyone. I need some advice. I had my 3rd fill on 6/25/08 and I am having issues. I can get yogart down(barley),some soft foods other than that I pb alot!! I don't know whether to panic and have some removed or just wait it out. I am on a liquid diet everyday it seems like. :bored: What should I do? Thanks from KS

I had the same problem my last fill and found the fill was great, I just had to adjust. I found I had to go slower and chew more than I was used to on the previous fill. When I had the first pb, I did not go on liquids and so I kept pb'ing.

After I spent one day on liquids, one day on mushies and then revisited bandster rules for eating slow and chewing well, I found that I had actually found my sweet spot. Pb's beget more pb's if you dont let your tummy relax a little afterwards.

Hi, I am also having acid reflux feeling in my throat even after drinking Water. Is this normal? Ithought if you had acid reflux it wasn't good.

I had 1cc removed today. I had 4cc in a 10cc band & my last fill was 2cc which made me too tight. I was the same way as Kerry3, I could keep liquids down fine but no mushies at all, I was throwing up from anything that had any substance at all, I couldnt eat tuna salad or scrambled eggs and could barely eat 1/4 packet of runny cream of wheat. I lost 7lbs in 5 days which was awesome but I needed to have more than liquids. Now I am at 3cc so hopefully I will be able to eat but still lose too.

Thank you, I am very frustrated b/c I am having weight loss with this but I can't live on liquids. My problem is that my surgeon lives and practices 3 hours away. I am in contact with him via phone or e-mail. Doesn't fix my issue right away. Thanks for responding Kerry3

HeatherO is right....I know from experience. Go back to liquids for a day and let the swelling go down. Then try mushies then advance slowly. Swelling does not get better until you let things rest. Good luck. I'm thinking good thoughts. :)

I would only take out .2 or .3. I had a slight unfill with the same issues and he took out too much. I would sip Water and see how it goes down after having that much removed. Good luck.

Thanks everyone, I am going extremley slow and giving it a shot!!! I have given my band some time to heal and we will see. I have not pb in a couple of days, but I am not pushing it fast either. It is a blessing to have you fellow bandsters. I will let you know the progress I hope.

Hi-

I am experiencing the same situatuin, however you didnt mention how much you are filled at and in what size band. I am currently at 9cc's in a 10cc band. Had .5 taken out about 3 weeks ago and thought this would help but I am still REALLY struggling with most solids. I went to my DR and they said to wait it out but I am not happy with that answer, I am going to go back in and get another cc taken out because from what I am reading we shouldnt have to live in misery like this. My expecation going in was to be able to enjoy a small amount of food and to fill fuller faster. I did not expect to be having it come up afterwards everytime I eat. I am not sure what PB means but I am sure I am experiencing it because I am miserable. So my suggestion is yes you are filled to much like I am and yes you should consider going back in to have a little bit off a deflate. Good luck and I hope you will keep me posted on how things go.

Hi Kerry. You have "waited it out" and it really sounds like your too tight. It is better to go slowly even if you get frustrated because you need to eat and keep it down. If you are having trouble with liquids and are pbing and have acid reflux, you are stressing your body. I am sure that having a doctor three hours away makes you hesitant to go, but this is long process and you have to be healthy while you are doing this. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
