I was banded on June 17th and am looking for anyone else who was banded on that day. I'm just wondering how everyone else is doing and as to their progress??

I was banded on the 17th and am doing great. I started mushies this past Wednesday and am really enjoying them. I've lost almost 30 pounds between the pre-op diet and after surgery. I'm still a little sore (I can tell when I bend or pull a certain way that I had surgery), but am for the most part back to normal life. I go in for my post-op check up on Monday. I'm excited to hear how everyone else is doing :tt2:

I was banded June 17th and am doing very well. I had way less pain than I had anticipated and never had that evil gas pain. I was able to sleep in my bed on my right side or back from day one! I have been following my doctor's diet to a T and am not feeling deprived or hungry. The Protein drink I have been using is AmazeRX because that's my surgeon's drink, and I really like it.

I have no idea how much weight I have lost because I had my husband hide the scales. I go for my 2 week follow-up on July 1st and I'll find out then using the exact same scales I was on for my last pre-op weigh in. Plus, I didn't want to get disappointed when I got on the scales while I was still swollen and see a possible weight gain.

This past week I was able to sit through a 7 hour 5-day math workshop without feeling pain. I also started riding my recumbent bike again and got up to 20 minutes a session. That has really pumped up my energy and feeling like I'm "normal" again!

I was banded June 17 and all is well. I walk alot because I had the gas pains so bad. I am not getting enough Protein some days and need to be more watchful. The pain is almost gone except a bit stiff in the mornings. I had a hiatus herina fixed at the same time. I haven't weighed myself yet but will do that. I don't feel starved at all yet I am sure that will come though. I start mushies on Tues. I have to wait till 2 weeks after surgery then it is 2 weeks of mushies before food. The doc wants me to wait till 6 weeks before first fill. I am a little scared to do that. I don't know why but I am. Look forward to seeing alls progress Good Luck:rolleyes2:

I was banded on the 17th and had a hiatal hernia repair. I was in more pain than expected. But I'm feeling better now. I went back to work on the 23rd. I'm on the mushy stage also. But I haven't started exercising, which I really need to do. I haven't been able to avoid the scales. I just had to weigh myself. And I've lost 10lbs since my surgery!! Yeah!! But I'm holding there, but that's ok, it's still 10 lbs!!! I'm glad to hear that everyone else is doing so well.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
