Hello. I was able to eat Jello right after surgery in the hospital. i think that would be absolutely ok. Other than that i was on broth for the 1st week. I know the feeling, but it will be over before you know it!

I'd say Jello is safe. My doc considers it part of the clear liquid diet, because it melts going down your throat and turns into a clear liquid.< /p>

I wouldn't try eating any real food though. Your stomach is still healing, and needs this time to rest. You wouldn't want any complications.

Today is day 4 for me, and my doc says I can start full liquids. I did my first Protein drink today and I am FULL. If your doc has you on full liquids yet, maybe try a Protein Drink?

This is what my doctor gave me as post opt eating:

Day of Surgery and day after - Clear Liquids

First 2 weeks - Full liquids (High Protein shakes, yogurt, milk, pudding, custard, strained Soup, Cream of wheat, grits, Cream of Rice, Tomato juice)

Weeks 3 & 4 - Soft foods (cottage cheese, eggs, canned chicken, tuna, or turkey, shaved deli meats, soft Beans, oatmeal, mashed or boiled potatoes with no skins, canned fruit, well-cooked tender vegetables.

Week 5 - Solid foods :cursing: regular textured introducing one new food at a time and monitor tolerance.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
