OK ladies... I have a questions about the drive...

Recommended Posts

Please tell me - does the sex drive come back as you lose??

DH and I used to have a VERY active sex life. Long story short, we both got fatter, and my drive has gone awol. DH was banded a year ago, and I've noticed he's more frisky, but not me. I think it's mostly in my head because I am so uncomfortable.

So - has it increased for any of you (that lost it with weight)?

A lot of people have said it comes back once you start to lose weight and feel more comfortable with yourself.

So I say yes.

my husband and i were banded the same day. same as you; got fluffy after the I do's were said and our extremely active sex life dropped off significantly - and it was more on his part. he was extremely self conscious & unhappy with his weight gain.

fast forward 8 months and it's back to our courting days, he's a teenager with the constant grabbing/touching/kissing - very affectionate. he made goal in 6months (hate men loose faster:tongue:), and i'm getting close - the weightloss has made a HUGE difference in our relationship - not just with sex.

Ok, I have gone from 255 to 183. OMGosh, dh and I can't keep our hands off each other. It is so much fun. We started dating 17 years ago. My sex drive had pretty much gone to pot, but it has been revived. :) Obviously, it is due to the physical aspect of the weight loss, but much more than that is the emotional part. For the first time in a VERY VERY long time I am happy with who I see in the mirror. I am very proud of my acomplishment. This filters over into my sex life as well. BTW, I have always been much heavier than dh. As of this morning I only weigh 3 pounds more than he does. How cool is that??

Thank God it comes back. I've noticed the last several months my sex drive has disappeared. I used to be the "horny" one and pretty much kept my DH worn out....now I have close to no interest in sex. I know it's due to all the insecurities about my body.

I can't wait til it comes back :frown:

The great thing is its increased for both of us!! I've already laid, hehehe, pun intended, down the law though...I never want to hear anything about how/if the sex was miserable when I was fluffy!! That would never be cool!

YOu are right nuke, there is a fine line there. It is hard to ignore, however, how much better it is now. But, the biggest reason it is better is because I like myself better.

You know birth control pills can have something to do with sex drive too.

There are many medications that affect the sex drive. Just thought I would throw that out there.

I used to have no sex drive. At all. I haven't in years - I mean 8 year +. I think a lot of it was self confidence and self image. In the last month DH has been a happy man. My confidence is growing and I'm feeling better about myself.

Sex has gotten better too, for both of us. DH can't keep his hands off me either. It's definately a change for the good. I'm glad those tubes are tied, cut and burnt in two! Two girls are enough for me to keep up with - lol

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
