Do any of you still have really huge burps? I wasn't much of a burper before wls but now if I am not careful I swear I could out burp my dh! They also come at unusual times (not right at a meal like you would expect!). Sometimes I will be in my office hours later and bend over to get something out of a file drawer and BAM a long ugly burp will rear it's ugly head. They aren't all that easy to stiffle either!

Anyone else have that problem?

I don't think I burp as much as I used to. Sometimes though, I let out a huge one. Yesterday I was having lunch and my stomach started hurting. All of a sudden, this huge burp came out. I was really glad I was alone in my office.

I don't have huge burps, but if I eat too fast, I get awful, loud hiccups. So much so, that everyone will be looking at me and wondering what I'm doing. Definitely a motivation to eat slowly, as to avoid the spotlight and have everyone in the lunchroom/conference room/restaurant looking at me.

When I first got banded I had all that gas in my belly and I belched for a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGg time really loud for about 5 days. After about the third fill I couldn't belch anymore. I don't know when the last time I belched was. I do get hiccups more now though. I never use to get those...

I definately burp more now and louder. And I get the hiccups a lot too. At least we look better now when we burp. LOL

I get the hiccups, but I always have. If I get really happy, I get the hiccups. it's embarrasing. I worked at this really crappy job and every day on the walk to the back to clock out I would get the hiccups.

That's hilarious Tara. So if someone you dislike slips and falls, you make sure you're out of hearing range right?

Hmmm... I guess I'm alone on that one.

Lil, what does it feel like to be over half way on the weight loss? Details, details and tell me slowly. I want to savor it. Gotta live vicariously for a bit longer.

Definitely much more burping here since getting the band. And A LOT more since I got this last fill. Oh well...it's a small price to pay, I suppose.

How long does it take for this insurance company to approve someone after the 6 month supervision dieting and all the testing?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
