Gotta say if I were told to lose 10 this month I would go with Atkins. I did it a few years ago and dropped 17 in two weeks. It is Water weight from giving up carbs but really quick!

Just about any healthy plan you go on an stick to will help you shed the pounds in 30 days. My nutritionist/surgeon has me on 5 shakes (I use Atkins or Low Carb Slim Fast), one 300-400 calorie meal like Weight Watchers or Lean cuisine, and a salad. The more Protein the shakes have the longer I can go without getting hungry. Drink lots of Water and Crystal Light too.

Staying disciplined is hard but knowing that the doctor won't do surgery until you lose makes it easier. It also prepares you to your new way of eating.

Good luck!

liquid diets, do about 60 grams of Protein a day (make that 3-4 servings since your body could only absorb about 20-25g or Protein at a time)

I did the Kellogg protein powder: 5g of protein

Ready to Drink EAS AdvantEdge: 17g (3 drinks a day)

Wal-mart's Body fortress Protein powder, mix with cold Water then use the liquid to make Jello: 6 - 10g

You probably will lose more than 10 lbs in a month...

if you are really hungry, just make Soup, strained everything out and drink the broth (1/2 cup at a time).

Hello, hope everything is going well. You can also try a 1200 cal. a day. That is what my Dr. has me on, and the first week i lost 7 pounds. so you might want to try that. it will also help in getting you ready for you new eating habits after the surgery.

Hi! Try lowering your carb & sugar intake to 8-12 grams per meal (4 meals a day). I lost 23 lbs. in 7 weeks by eating: Peak Nutrition whey Gourmet Protein Shakes (16 flavors) 1-for Breakfast, mid morning snack - Dannon 40 or 60 calorie yougurt, lunch StarKist tuna Lunch Kit or Tyson chicken Breast Lunch Kit, afternoon snack - South Beach or Kashi Breakfast Bar & dinner - salad w/low cal dressing & a Tyson Mesquite Chicken Breast (put in microwave for 2 1/2 minutes = 130 cals & yummy). I used lowfat milk or Soy Light Milk in the Protein Shake + 1 tbsp. scoop of Light Cool Whip, 1 pack of Sweet N Low & in some cases added Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup. Hard boiled eggs are a great source of Protein for Snacks. I hope this helps & I wish you the very best!

I would either count calories or join Weight Watchers. If you eat 20 points on weight watchers its 1k a day. You should be able to lose 10 lbs. in 30 days.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
