  1. 1. Would you have your mons lifted?

    • Yes, they are as out of shape as I am.
    • No, that area is forbidden!

I posted to the breast augmentation thread and it got me to thinking about the PS I'll probably end up getting once I get to goal. I'm sure I'll have to have a Tummy Tuck, possible arms and breast lift. What about your mons? Ya'll, honestly I haven't seen that area in YEARS, but am afraid to let a surgeon change anything there. I'm sure it's fat like the rest of me - LOL...

Does that area get lifted somewhat with the tummy tuck? Would you have your mons lifted?

I voted yes! I know I'll need it, lol!

I don't know if a Tummy Tuck helps. I think I did hear that a LBL helps take care of it. I dunno? I plan on having a LBL, BL, and my arms done. I guess a mons lift too if the LBL doesn't take care of it.

i was wondering when this was gonna come up, i was watching a video the other day on you tube about a woman talking about how hers had changed after she lost weight

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6XixDSk7Jg]YouTube - My vagina looks & feels different after WLS (gastric bypass)[/ame]

I too haven't seen it in years lol...so not really to bothered about it, as they say you dont miss what you didnt have, but in my case, i dont miss what i dont see LOL!!

I've had a caesarean so mine's a little droopy, lol. Not worth surgery though, just kind of when my DH keeps cutting out newspaper ads for laser hair removal (he's kidding me, wants me to go the full brazillian) I know that I appreciate a bit of foliage for camouflage in the area.

Hi Georgia Girl,

It is my impression that most (if not all) plastic surgeons will take care of the mons area (if needed) during a tummy tuck as well. I honestly cannot tell whether or not mine needs to be addressed -- it doesn't look like it, but frankly I'm just not going to stand in a mirror and examine things that closely. However, I'm having a tummy tuck (plus a breast lift and implants) late next week and during my last consult, I asked my surgeon if he will be correcting the mons area, if needed, and he said yes. It makes sense to do so, as it seems to me that the area can be easily accessed through the tummy tuck incision.

I've got an online friend who's heading back in after a TT for what she called "the ken doll procedure" becuase she says she looks like a ken doll, lol. But no, no correction was made during her Tummy Tuck. This is in australia - but wherever it happens, I'd call that bad surgery. Its all part of the same part of the body, how as a surgeon could you distinguish that that's a separate procedure (and thus another set of anaesthetists, hosptial bed, insurance excess etc to pay for?). What's the point of a nice smooth tummy if the rest of you flaps in the breeze?

OMG, Jachut, your final comment was SO funny LOL :lol::thumbup:!

But so true. I would guess that most (if not all) patients need at least a little adjustment "down there" during a tummy tuck when the rest of the skin is being pulled so taut, and if a Dr. doesn't do it, then I agree with you -- it is bad surgery.

I said maybe, depends on how bad of a TT I will need when this is all said and done.

IF I need a 'belt' then chances are my mons will need a good lift too. But if I just need my 'pooch' removed then chances are the mons wont be that bad (I can hope ya? LOL)

But then again my biggest parts ain't mah belly, its my butt, hips, and thighs. I will be the one getting the PS from the waist down not the waist up. Although I might try to talk em into a breast lift with a small implant. Thankfully my insurance covers PS after WLS, but oddly enough you have to fight em if you lose the weight with out WLS. Go figure.

I'm just not all that sure at this point. It doesn't look too bad right now, but who's to say what I will look like when I'm at goal.

I voted no. I don't think I have much of a problem in that area. I carry most of my weight in my butt and legs, but I guess it would make a difference for people who carry their weight in their stomach. But I will probably definitely need a boob lift.

My PS will be doing one with my TT. She said for most people it should be done, otherwise you will still feel flabby (especially for those of us that lost a ton of weight). There are no muscles there to shape it up on your own. She said that it is easy to pull it up while you are pulling the tummy down. I think it is becoming a lot more common for PS in the US to do this procedure together. I know most of the ladies that had a TT in Feb/Mar had the mons lift.

Lol I'll probably need one, I hope not but mine is all puffy and fat!! lol I hope it shrinks without getting flabby but who knows. I am far from my goal so yeah lol.

I look in a mirror LOL I know that's horrible, but I look in a mirror to see if I got all the hair when I shave LOL

TMI I know but hey this is pubic area talk.

The worst part of my va jay jay is the mound the lips aren't as bad

All I can do is hope for the best just like the rest of you. I am just looking forward to being skinner even with flabby skin.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
