Please don't be discouraged after I finished the liquids I was starving also until I had my first fill then after my first fill I still felt I could overeat. I went back to my list and look at the food list to see what else I could eat and make. I came up with a few recipes that helped me get through the tough days. Try to mix it up with a few varies and see what you can make it helps.

Sisterc.... I was actually asking Makeupqueen what she was consuming... because I wonder if there is a lack of something that is making her hungry... I am almost 2 weeks post op and do not feel hungry.... I also did Optifast for 6 months and never felt hungry... So I was wondering if she wasnt getting in enough quality Protein to help with hunger.....

However... I would love to know your recipes that get you through the tough days... I am always looking for new recipes....

Wow! you did Optifast for six months - how was that?????? My recipe was for post-op here was one Take ricotta cheese and no sugar spagetti sauce and layer it like you would a lasagua or cook in oven for 5 minutes or microwave for 1 1/2 minutes and you will think you are eating lasagua.

Yummo sisterc! That sounds really good....I should be able to go on mushies starting this week..... I have an appt on thursday and should get the go ahead...

Yes I did an Optifast program for 6 months... the first 8 weeks I did only 5 shakes a day... And then after that I added 2 ounces of lean meat and 2 cups of veggies for about 4 weeks...I hit a stall point because I was working out an hour a day 5-6 days a week... So then over the next 12 weeks I took shakes away and added foods in over the course of 6 months I lost 100 pounds..... To me it was a miracle...I went the Optifast route because at the time Tricare didnt cover the lapband and I knew bypass was not for me.......I was going to do another 6 month program (3000.00) but found out that Tricare now covered the band... So here I am... almost 2 weeks post op....

I put on about 55 pounds over 12 months after the end of the program... Partly because of eating... partly because reproductive fertility meds. I was gaining weight on shakes... so I figured I might as well eat and enjoy it rather then do shakes if I am going to gain....Bad mistake...I went on a Detour and gained the 55 pounds after a year of hormone treatment... I think it would have been halfed if I kept eating right and doing shakes here and there... so now I am working on getting the weight off again...

I did keep up the exercising during the entire process and after... so I cant WAIT to get back to the gym... I am hoping to get the clear at my 2 week post op appt for that too....

anymore great recipes to share???

I was banded on May 1st. I feel like I get very hungry at times also. I have started planning my day before I even have Breakfast. I write down what I will eat over the course of the day and divide it into mini meals. It helps keep me on track. Breaking the old habits is my biggest curse!!!

Stay Tuned - That was incredible for six months! If you did it before you will do it again! I was so encouraged by your story and know that we can do it just one day at a time we can. This is just a learning curve for us to learn about eating again what works and what does not. I ate that recipe each day for the entire time till I seen the doctor. I ate a lot of Soups, creme soups, and more soups, watered down Cereal which won't too bad. Double check the list and go shopping and try mixing a few. I didn't try the powered eggs - Carrie

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
