Good morning! At least it stopped snowing and the sun is shining. Think it might hit 60 today. DH is glad he fertilized before all this moisture hit so hopefully we'll have a green lawn soon.

Arlene, I can post from my IPad but can't figure out how to get my font and color. So when you don't see my color you know I was on my Ipad. LOL If you figure that part out let me know. Oh and I think Linda said her bro was 62.

Apples, good to see you posting. Get concerned when you vanish. HOpe the family issues are soon over.

Eva, bet your cushions are going to be so nice!

Good Morning Gang

Great Pic's Laura & Meredith !!!!

Eva - I look at new cushion for my patio set - $39.99 each (Kmart) and they were the good ones that will last - but $215 for cushions don't think so.. I could recover mine - but they need more padding - well maybe some day - right now am crocheting - so 1 project at time

Apples - Figured as much - Hugs & Love

Linda - Got your letter - must have come Sat - I ck'd mail Sunday and it was there - how funny I thought I made up position #1 - and it's part of the threapy - 9 days of not laying flat or sleeping on certain side Ugh..

Hugs & prayers on DB !!!! Love your pics..

Phyl - so proud of you for not having your computer/phone on 8.5 days !!!!! Did you go into withdrawls !!

Hugs on the back/knee issue - Hope you can get it fixed when you go home.. Love the pics on fb

Charlene - I haven't gotten my Wen yet !!! Should be their today - I got the TSV last night white & black and I have their yoga pants too..

Great - I am still weight lifting - not doing pilo or bootcamp - treadmill instead.. I think may try bootcamp tomorrow - vertigo seems ok - just so scared of pushing it don't want it to come back - may just do treadmill instead - I have weigh training tonite..

I had a nice rejuvinating weeked - I really did nothing major - food shopping - and crocheting - Watched TMC Elizabeth Taylor movies yesterday - she was a really good actress and so beautiful - Watch TMC (Turner Moive Classic) on Saturday too - I love the old movies -

I could use another few days of recharging - I will need its when kids come for Easter..

Well gotta get back to work...

Hugs & love to all

I don't take blood pressure pills. Just my mental health stuff and just recently started birth control. TOM is visiting too. I feel a bit sick this morning. Coughing once in a while but light headed like I took something. The doc will probably just say it was the heat but I was soaking wet from the pool and my Dad spraying me and Jake with the hose. I made an appt so we will see.

Good news on the school front. I got an A on today's exam. Boy was I sweating it. There were 7 questions I was unsure about but I only missed 3. I am so thrilled that all that work I put in paid off.

Jessica, congrats on the A....I hope whatever happened with the dizziness is a rare thing and nothing major.

Janet, glad to hear you took it easy this weekend. You need to once in a while.

Linda, glad your DB survived the surgery. So weird...keeping fingers crossed for him.

Charlene, yes, cushion covers....for the patio chairs. I have 6 of them and couldn't find any that I like to replace them except the expensive ones. So I found fabric I love for $80 but now it's a matter of time. They are all sewn together, but I ran out of Velcro. I guess I could just stitch them in, but I want to be able to get back into them. I'm using the padding from the old cushions because it's still in great shape.

Lori, glad your weather is warming up. I love it when it's a little warmer. How's that grandbaby?

I unloaded the truck today and hauled a little more gravel. I was planning on putting two of the patio block between the shed and the wall....well, there isn't 2' of space for about 7' of it...I can't shove 24 inches of block in a space that seems to be 23 and 7/8 inches. It just off a little bit but I can't get those blocks in there. So I laid all of them I could and I'll have to figure something else out. It's behind the shed and no one can see it, but I wanted it covered to keep the pack rats at bay.

Have to get ready for school...later ladies.

Eva

Hey Everyone ,

I am around I have not been on the computer in a while. i devolped a sharp pain from my right hip down to my right foot. It causes the right side of my foot to be numb. It is my sciatic nerve steming from a problem with discs in my lower back. Anyways since I have no insurance it cost over 100.00 to see my Dr. If I sit or lay on a heating pad it helps alot so I try to do that. I am trying not to go to the Dr.

On the job front two full time postions have open up at Sams one is a meat cutter and the other is an advantage member associate. I applied for both. If I can get one then I can get insurance Starting in May since they are Full time positions. I pray they let me interview and I get picked for one of them. I really like what I do now but nothing full time is available; so I have to do what I have to do.

As for me and my weight issues just hanging in there have not done alot. Not 100% yet. I am trying to do the high Protein thing; still struggling with my cravings but I am working on it.

Car issues as well to talk about. The condensation from my air conditioner (the Water that runs out of your car when you run your air) is leaking into my car instead of outside. There is something wrong with the hose or the box itself, I was given a quote of 500.00 to fix it and they will need my car for two days. In the mean time I am just soaking up the Water with a shammy.

It is what it is but I am praying for a break soon.

Love to you all and the pics posted are very pretty.

Still can't find the font when posting from iPad. Phyl, any idea? I know you have one and are techy.

Eva, thanks for asking, the grandbaby is good. She went to the dr and went from 6 lbs 7 oz to 8 lbs 3 oz in three weeks. Sheds having some troubles nursing so may switch to formula. She's six weeks old already.

I went to the dr today for a weird throat neck issue i am having. The ENT dr thinks it could be something called phyangeal (sp) acid reflux. I have no other symptoms like heartburn, taste in my mouth, etc but the back of my larynx is a little irritated. Laura or Phyl any ideas have you heard of this? I don't feel too tight or anything. I see my lap band dr in Denver on May 3 so will mention it to him as well. I am to take Prilosec twice a day aforementioned four weeks and go back. I also have an inflamed or benign lymph node that hurts. He said it was very confident it was nothing like a growth or anything.

Jewel - I wanted to let you know I enjoy your videos on you tube. You inspire me to do great things. Keep it up girl you are doing great. To come back from a cruise and not gain is awesome. Sorry your DH is working so much. Don't sweat it if you can not make dinner with all that is going on. I believe you are making wonderful choices even if you have to get fast food. Remember everyones journey is different and I believe you are moving at the right pace for you. Look at all you have done within the 65 weeks. Way To Go !!!

Melissa, I have my fingers crossed for you and the open positions. Sorry about all of the troubles you have been having. When it rains it pours.

Linda, I was so hoping they would find your brothers problem. Do they have any other tests in mind to try?

Glad you are feeling better Janet.

Welcome back Phyl. The pictures of Zoey on FB are too cute.

Good Evening Gang...

Melissa - Good ju ju being sent your way - Ice instead of heat or alternate - Ice reduces the inflamation..

Eva - I need the down time - looking to see when I can take a week just for me - not go any where - not do anything - I need to recharge the batteries.. OMG you are a work horse aren't you..

Great - Don't have any idea about your throat issues - sound like they don't either - but who know's I am not a licensed dr - maybe they know more than me - but we know when we have heart burn.. Glad DGD is doing well - Kaitlin really couldn't nurse either - so they switched to bottle - Seems like yesterday and she's going to the Prom this Saturday... They grow up so fast..

Charlene - Got my Wen today - the only problem is you can't tell the hair stuff from the body stuff - I don't wear my reading glasses in the shower LOL

Not much to report - work was work - had good arm work out tonite - dinner is done (made bbq ck yesterday) so going to go crochet for a while...

Melissa, hope you get the full-time position. Take care of your back. One Day at a Time. Your Mantra.

Linda, praying for your DB.

Janet, glad you're able to exercise again. Can't believe the vertigo issues on this thread. You and Linda exercise more than anyone on here and Apples runs around doing stuff beyond anybody I know. Gets more natural exercise than anyone on here. Makes me wonder if there's a relationship.

Jewel, the new thing in your life is your BC pills. Could they be causing fainting as well as other issues? Are you getting enough Protein and eating it frequently enough? I had trouble during my concert because I went too long without Protein.< /span>

Great, blood pressure meds and other meds can cause pharyngeal reflux. (One of the side effects of my daughter's chemo) So can your band. I would also see another specialist on that node and not take a chance. Any lump is nothing to fool around with. Ask my daughter.

Who, by the way, is miserably sick from the chemo. So hard to watch her suffer. One more dose of this heavy-duty chemo, then she switches to "chemo-light." It will attack the cancer from another angle. Tumor continues to shrink rapidly. The best outcome is for the tumor to be completely killed by the chemo by the time of the surgery. Her cancer is so aggressive that that will improve her survival rates to 80%. She has done research on her type of cancer and its amazing to sit and listen to her talk so matter-of-factly about her outcomes. Her cancer has very few estrogen receptors making that line of attack (eliminating estrogen from the body completely via complete removal of ovaries and tamoxifen) not at all effective for her.

Laura, how is your dad doing?

Apples, I'm so sorry. Hope some of your issues get resolved.

Cheri

Melissa...good luck on the full time position...hope you get one of them.

Janet, not a work horse, but when I get the urge to do something...I have to do it because otherwise the projects sit for years and nothing gets done. I like to see progress but it tends to kick my butt....my shoulders and arms are tired and sore today. Who knew sewing could be so difficult....LOL.

My back hurt when I got up this morning but I didn't feel a thing after I worked out with the blocks and all that feels okay now. I took drugs for the shoulder (Ibuprofen) and now feel good.

Back to Easter cards and homework.

Later

Lori, have you had an MRI on your neck? My DGS had a lump in his neck a couple of years ago. The MRI showed it was an angianoma or something like that. It is a genetic thing and when a cat scratched him it caused the swelling in his neck. It went away on its own without treatment. I would get a second opinion. My DS has Barretts Esophagus from acid reflux. He has to get scoped every two years. He is being scoped in a few weeks. Even though he has lost 100lbs he still has reflux. Both of his parents had reflux. I am sure all the spicey food he eats is not good for it either.

Janet, too funny, but you are right.....the packaging is the same for the hair and body wash. I might have to mark mine too.

Melissa, I sure hope you get a full time position. It would take a load of worry off of you. HUGS!

Cheri, I really believe your DD is gonna beat this. She seems tough like her mama. Prayers and HUGS for you!

Eva, I didn't know you sewed. You are so talented! I hope you can post pics of your new cushions.

Apples........Love ya bunches! HUGS!

Linda.....how is your DB?

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
