Hey everyone - Prayers out to those in need and congrats for those who are doing well. One day I will get to meet you guys when the time is right it will happen.

Okay I got the job I am excited and a little scared. Small company and I will be the go to woman. Which is fine. Everyone tells me to keep looking because I have a gut feeling this might not last. This is a family run business and not sure I want to be in the drama but I need the money and insurance so we will see.

But the good thing is I can only eat what I bring no snack machines. So I can focus on me and keep working at it. I started walking again. Maybe If I get up early I can get a walk in before I get ready for work. i have to tell myself to tak eit slow 1day at a time.

Melissa, congrats on the job. You know one of my friends interned at a small family business and now 17 years later, she's still there. You just don't know until you try. Keep an open mind.

Phyl, really rotten friend....or former friend should we say. So sorry she doesn't have the intelligence to see what a change you've made. So you'll be stopping in Willcox? Exciting place, but I understand about not wanting to drive more than you can handle.

I'm going to have to wait and see about the cruise. I'd love to go, I've never done a cruise, but I'm might be in class in April and don't want to make any commitments I can't afford to keep. Let's talk about it in Vegas.

Jessica, you are doing so well with your classes and handling everything. I'm proud of you. So many children get that diagnosis so I'm sure there is help for you and lots of information. HUGS. Just think 15 more months!!! Wow, that is too cool.

Charlene, congrats on the 2 lbs. Joining a gym with your DH, that's pretty cool. I can barely get my DH to walk with me. He does swim, but during the day when I can't.

There must be some nasty little mosquito in the house. I just got a few bites on one arm. Grrrr.

It's FNSC tonight and I'm so tired I'll probably fall asleep during it. Work was very hectic and not slowing down. Oh well, two weeks left, then it will get really hectic.

Talk at you all later,

Eva

Cheri – You put so much of yourself into your kids, whether they are your biological or school kids. You have so much heart.

Thank you Great and Eva, I still struggle but I think I’ve got it. Now the trick is to hold on to it. LOL

Janet, sorry you were without your Mom for so long. I lost mine 8 years ago and that feels like forever. Glad to hear you had a relationship with your Step-mon.

Phyl, what an awful thing for her to say. I am sorry she hurt you but be strong. Don’t let her get you down.

Charlene – LA fitness sounds great. The Water aerobic classes are a lot of fun; I am sure you would enjoy that! Congrats on the 2 lbs loss.

Janet – Those cruise prices look really good.

Laura, hugs on the menopause stuff. It was really rough for me but I am through it now. Just remember, it doesn’t last forever. I did hormone replacement at one point because it got so bad. I remember telling my doctor, when she didn’t want to renew my prescription, that I would sell myself on the street corner to get more. Whew! Thank goodness she renewed my prescription. I don’t think I would have had any takers considering I was always wet with perspiration.

I worked out for an hour today with my trainer. Going to the race track tonight with my husband for a "Night at the Races". It is a fund raiser for the fire department. Should be fun.

Sandy - Ya prices aren't bad - LOL on your script issue w/doc - I was lucky - haven't really had any issues w/menopause - get my own personal summer every now and then but nothing to write home about.. Hope you enjoyed your evening...

Yep, I will tell him. One of the nurses said he is still negotiating with Discovery Health. I haven't talk to him about it.

We are looking at Amber Gris Caye.......Ramon's Village Resort. One of my friends stayed there and said Ramon himself helped with the food. She said it is real laid back place right on the beach.

Well, we are going to share a trainer two nights a week. I will do Water aerobics during the day. We go tuesday night for our first training session.

Syndy.......you have done so good without the band.....keep it up!

Ladies.....I hope you have a great weekend!!!!

Charlene - those lbs are going to start flying off w/the help of that trainer - I lost 25 lbs in 3 months once I started working out w/weights..

Will have to ck that place out - I've always wanted to go to Belize..

Janet I am with you on the 7 day cruise and I don't even have to pay for my airfare. I did a shorter one once and heck as soon as you got settled and found your way around the ship it was time to go home. I would want to do a day before in New Orleans as well. And I like NCL over Carnival because of the freestyle cruising, but could go either way. A cruise is such a great vacation for a group of people because everyone can do their thing but we can always have dinner together at night and just hang out on the ship if we don't want to fill it with activities as well. To each her own. And food is so easy on a cruise as you can order whatever you want and they always have their 'spa' Entrees available. And they have a gym too, cause I am sure if you are along you are going to make us workout! LOL Trainer Janet!

Arlene, bummer on 24 hour not having a pool. One location near me does and the other doesn't but I can go to either one. In the winter I may go to the one with the pool, I usually go to the one w/o right now. Congrats on making the step to join!

Great - you had me LMAO on the trainer part ;0) Yep I will have us up early - like 6 - coffee 1st (gotta have that) and then by 7 - 7:30 we will be up on the top deck - walking !!!!

We all will have to have Janet's Posse T-Shirts !!!!

I agree about eating on a cruise - I had no problem - I even ate at the buffet for bf & lunch - dinner was the only time I ate in the dinning room -

Well gang, sorry I can't keep up right now. Just a 15 months to go and I will be a nurse. I am getting so tired. I am so busy canstantly on the go. I do still wanna let yall know I am thinking of you and let yall know how things are going.

I had 2 exams last week. I passed them both. I have another one monday and I am feeling confident. I learned how to give shots this week and I think that is pretty cool.

Book fair is going well. I gotta have a meeting with the volunteers to get schedules aligned. Which means public speaking, scary.

My son was diagnosed with adhd this morning. I am trying to deal with it when really I just wanna cry. I have tried to work with adhd kids before and I know how difficult they can be. I am scared. We are going to try a combo of meds and therapy. I am already feeling a bit frustrated. My husband worked night shift last week. It was just me and jake all last week. I had to check myself a few times after snapping at him. I did some research and contacted his teacher about getting some assistance with the IDEA IEP or 504 plan. They give a student extra assistance in school. All the lingo about these plans are in legal jargon so I am struggling to decifer it. I emailed his teacher asking for contact info for the ese specialist. I told her 3 weeks ago I wanted him evaluated but have yet to hear anything.

My fill is really tight. I can only tolerate liquids in the morning and very little soft foods in the evening. I have lost 6 pounds the past 7 days. Last time I asked for a slight unfill things got out of hand and I ended up having no restriction for 3 months. Gained 15 pounds too. I am getting frustrated in that area. I can barely get in 4 ounces of food a day. Besides the 6 ounces of Protein shake I get in for Breakfast. This may be contributing to why I feel so run down. I also get a sharp stabbing pain in my throat when I eat solids. I am trying to stick to soft foods just because of that. I keep thinking I am doing something wrong like not chewing well enough. I feel like I am wearing a shock coller.

I am so tired I can't even determine if I spelled coller right. I am gonna go to bed. Got lots of studying to do this weekend.

Jessica - you better go in on Monday and get some taken out - You gotta be able to eat -

Hugs on Jake - it will all work out..

Sorry, gang, for being absent....... Things aren't going so well.... Will have to explain later.... Had 4 trigger point shots yesterday and therapy is scheduled for Monday........ Hope to have the where-with-all to post more tomorrow..... Hugs and love to all.......... Julie

Julie - Hope nothing bad is going on - Hugs

Janet, oh good, I don't like coffee so I can sleep in a little longer before Trainer Janet gets me going. LOL I ate most meals at the buffet too on my cruise and it was no problem, I could load up on Protein and pick and choose what I wanted. Worked well. dinner in the dining room most nights but the poor waiters don't understand my eating habits and were always so concerned if I didn't eat something and try and bring me more stuff. LOL

I saw all the props on Phyls FB page. I think the lady that must've posted the comment posted something too trying to recant what she said. Phyl has done too well to have someone like that poo-paw her progress.

Melissa, congrats on the job!

I am 7 weeks out with very little restriction. I am trying so hard to eat the right things, but I find that I am eating more and more like I did pre-band. Just got back from Vegas where my family all went to a buffet each night. I think I did good, but I am not losing weight! I am so afraid that I am going to stretch my pouch too....Any tips?

Thanks,

Tracy

Tracy Welcome - You can never go back to eating like you did pre band (food choices) that's what made us fat in the 1st place -

When do you get your 1st fill - in the mean time always eat your Protein 1st then veggies and if you have any room starches..

You gotta remember why you had major surgery - it's up to you to make your food choices - even once you get to your sweet spot - as we can all eat around our bands if we chose to..

Thanks everyone in the support and Janet you are right I CAN get up early and walk.

:0) yep little girl you can ;0)

Good Morning Peeps

Up at the crack of dawn as usual - got my linen closet straighten out - 1 load in the dryer 1 in the wash - need to mop

Wow! You guys really like to party. Cruise is out for me. Teaching school, can't take off. Plus we're paying each month so that I can tour Europe with this new choir I joined. Tour will be at the end of June and into July. 10 days. Germany, Austria, and Czechoslavakia. Lots of cathedrals. Some of the music is really ethereal and some is monk-like. Should sound fantastic in the cathedrals.

Any get-togethers for me would have to be in July or August and within driving distance for me. Probably north of here as I'm not a huge fan of heat and humidity. MI or WI maybe. Even MN or Canada. Actually, I love Chicago and a weekend in Chi-town could happen anytime. Spring or Fall are good times.

Maybe in 2012 I could swing a cruise, but since I'm only free in the summers I'd make it an Alaskan cruise. LOL.

My daughter, who has suffered with anxiety and depression in the past, really got herself in a frenzy this past week with her husband out of town.

Instead of being happy for him for the honor he was getting (he was given a presidential award for notifying and working with the FBI to break up a prostitution ring working the State Line between Calumet City, IL and Hammond, IN. He's a Hammmond PO who works the gang unit.)

She had herself convinced he's been having an affair and would meet a woman out there. She called me almost every night and I went out there after work several times because she was so hysterical. She recognized that she was being irrational and was stuck in circular obsessive thinking and in behavior that could drive him into an affair and eventual divorce, but she couldn't stop herself. I kept urging her to get in to the Dr. and get on meds and she finally did. I also encouraged her to get counseling while on the meds so she could change her thinking.

I also reminded her that she was expecting the same behavior from her husband that her dad engaged in. That seemed to be the thing that really clicked with her. She'd blocked out a lot of her Dad's behavior prior to our divorce.

So between my student's death and my daughter's meltdown, it's been quite a week. Tomorrow I'm singing in church choir and then going to my GD Leah's 3 yr BD party.

food has not been great this past week but I'm forgiving myself for that. I had to get thru it as best I could.

Good news on my niece Olivia. She has been seizure free for 2 weeks. She misses her old school and friends but is making new ones. Her teacher or counselor at the new school chose a girl Olivia's age to befriend Olivia and to sit with her at lunch. The teacher told the girl that Olivia was epileptic so she wouldn't be surprizsd if Livvie seized. The girl replied that it wouldn't be a problem-her little brother had seizures, too. I'm convinced that was a God-thing.

I'm taking it easy today. I am going to go outside and walk. Slept in. Gotta buy a present for GD. Gotta find out if I should bring food. DIL is pregnant so Leah will have a sibling come next April.

Life goes on. God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.

Cheri

Laura - What are you & nelson doing this weekend..

I got a well needed and deserved BREAK today! DH was on call last night but it was unusually quiet and he didn't get paged after 10pm. I didn't sleep well AGAIN, sort of the norm these days. I didn't get out of bed until 8am. (wasn't really sleeping but was too tired to get up). DH did Breakfast and then took Nels to chuckie cheese/movie/go kart place. He will be TIRED when he gets home..LOL. I agreed to watch one of my friend's daughters tomorrow b/c it's their anniv. (the girl we went to the beach with the other week). I felt bad b/c they don't have a sitter or family and just wanted to get away for a few hours. Not sure what we'll do. Maybe just hang around here and swim. My life is so exciting..LOL.

I spoke to my parents this morning and dad is really nervous about the PET results on Monday. He is feeling better though since he got the IV fluids and diarrhea stopped. They've been through the ringer these last few months. I really hope it is clear.

ok. I need to go use my time wisely. : ) Will CBL. and promise then to comment on others posts. peasout

Just patting myself on the back. Julie, did I not talk about trigger points in the muscles and how one of the treatments was injections into the trigger points in the muscles? That was one of the treatments for Myfascial Syndrome. Anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers can also be prescribed; I take a very mild one before bed so my muscles will lay down overnight and not wake me up. I'll be interested to know what physical therapy they recommend. I read that very very gentle stretching of the muscles helps. If your muscles have atrophied you'll have to build them up very slowly or you'll just put yourself in more pain. I had read that accupressure (not puncture) directly on the trigger points can bring relief as can very gentle massage. Also warm moisture, not cold, to relax the muscles. Also, have to be very careful with chiro as adjustments can trigger muscle spasms.

Probably the hardest thing will be getting off your pain meds.

Janet - dd has returned to her pre-hostipal life. Like Cheri, I now wait for the next meltdown. Mothering is never over. Fortunately, I've not yet been called upon to raise grandchildren. We can all Celebrate that we have changed life and shown responsibility for our families.

Our blessing is strength in the face of crisis.

Now for a bit of a problem - I am constantly clearing my throat. I'm sure it's acid relux - carrying the mucus ball at the base of my throat.

I take Rx prevacid daily. Any suggestions????

Just a quick check-in. Needed to come this way for a meeting about a benefit I am helping with which is being held next weekend. Decided to bring a load home as long as I was coming this way. One sad girl loading that car!

Phyll....you ex-friend needs a blanket party. In our part of the country it entails covering her with a blanket and kicking the sh_t out of her. If it's not in you to physically do it, you can carry the mental image. I agree with you and others...what a "B".

Melissa....congrats on the job. Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sandy...was so happy to see your post that you are going to stick around. I always wondered why you didn't but understand. No room for embarassment on this thread. We are here to support each other and be friends. No shame in going through the LB process and not getting it. If you felt you could do it, more power to you. Heck, I am kind of the weird duck here on this thread and I have been shown nothing but kindness. Just the occasional "whine" once in awhile cuz I junk up the thread. LOL. Hope you stick around. I loved it when you used to post.

OK....no time for other comments. I need to head back to town for my meeting and to set up for benefit. After that, heading back to my beloved lake. I work Monday, meeting on Tues morning and then will catch up with you all. Just a couple of more days of heaven b/4 locking the lake place up. Thank God for the Vegas trip to look forward to.

As far as the cruise goes....I'll think about it. May would not be the time for me to do it. Planting season and DH was so great about Vegas during harvest. Oh heck....when he comes to the lake tonight I'll just greet him at the door wrapped in Saran wrap. Reminds me.....stop at the store for another roll of wrap.

Karen - surprised to see you here today, but always a nice treat. Sorry it's time to close the lake place til spring. I know how you love it there.

I agree, it's wonderful that LV awaits to help ease the packing.

I fear Julie is having a difficult time. Sending prayers for healing and relief from pain. She has endured for so long.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
