i was banded on 04/21/08. my first fill was 05/19/08. i feel MORE hungry after my fill than i did before! i've even gained 2 pounds back. i emailed my doctor and asked if i could come in for another fill on 06/07/08 and he said yes. that's less than a month apart.

how often can you get fills?

I was happy to see this post and look forward to reading some of the responses. I am going through the same thing. I got banded on 4/3, got a fill on 5/19 and I am hungrier than before. I called today and asked to move my fill date from 6/20 to 6/9. I wonder if this is common. This is all still kind of new to me. Good Luck to you!

My first fill was a month after surgery. After that I was able to go every 2 wks, however I averaged close to every 3-4wks.

I was pretty much hungry till fill #4. My last fill in March has gotten tighter the last few wks & I had a small unfill last wk which hasn't made a difference, so I plan on going Friday for a bit more taken out. Little too restricted for my liking; enjoy eating my calories - not drinking them (protein shakes).

All the best!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
