Not sure what happened but something did

Recommended Posts

I was banned about 2yrs ago in the US which shortly after recovering from surgury I moved to China for work. Since surgery I have not really lost any major lbs. Maybe a total of 15lbs. I started at over 300lbs. Following surgery I did everything correct saw my DR for fills which I had three I think. I have never really felt that I was restricted on my intake. Anyway, two years later I need someone's advice. Did it not work? Did it slip? Do I just need to get more fills? In the morning if I eat to fast food will get stuck and it will come back up. When I belch it sounds like its coming from the bottom of some cave!! Anyway, if anyone knows of a Dr either in mainland China or Hong Kong I would really appriciate your help. Also, for some guideance on what is the best approch I feel like I have failed and and to get back up on the horse and make this work.

Thank you all.

Hi there, its pretty hard to judge anything without having any insight into what food you are eating daily - how many calories, how much activity, etc? I'm sure you know we still have to put in the work to eat less calories and exercise more.

It sounds like you have some restriction if your food comes up if you eat too fast.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to find a lap band doctor in China/Hong Kong - not generally a weight problem in those countries. Suggest you google it to see if you can locate. I did a quick search and found this group: http://www.lapbandasia.com

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
