Hi all. So it's my 6th day and things are better. But at least once a day I start to slime and either dry heave or throw up liquid. I don't know what is going on. I KNOW i am not cheating--straight full liquids and nothing else.

docotor said that my band is very high up under my breastbone and when i feel the pressure in my chest it is my full feeling. how can that even be possible when the rest of my stomach gurgles with stomach pains??

i am heading back to work next week and how embarrasing it will be if i have to run off to the bathroom suddenly to throw up. my workplace is so small they will all hear me!!

i wanted to ask also about lifting. my doc says no more than 5bs for two weeks. wel my hubby has been home for the week helping with the kids but next week its all me. he is gone by the time we get up and i have a one year old who is more than 5 lbs!! how did everyone manage with this??

Wow, 6th day? After surgery? And you have good restriction? Wow! You are lucky!

When I got restriction I still felt hunger. Don't understand the commercials about 'not being hungry'...because I was. I'd eat til just a tad overfull (slime a bit). But I'd have to eat within another 2 hours. Seems like I ate all day long.

I know some are to eat 3 or 5 meals a day and that will do it for them...but for some, we have to tweak that. Even if it takes 6 hours to eat one meal...eat a little at a time.

Just talk with your doctor.

And if you are vomiting (ever) get seen immediately as vomiting can cause something to go wrong. If it's just sliming....just don't eat as much/as fast...and talk with your doctor.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
