you headaches...i am wondering if you drank a lot of soda or coffee/tea? you could be having caffinee withdrawls? My nutritionist and nurse told me to get off soda way before being banded...the headaches are awful. within a few days (4 for me) the headaches were gone...

Try some liquid motrin or tylenol. You could also call the surgeon/nurse and ask for something....

Also, if you are not getting enought liquid you can become dehydrated and that also causes headaches..

hth!!!!

I was banded Monday also. My (severe) headaches were in the hospital because of the morphine pump so I quit that late Monday night/very early Tuesday morning. Do you think it might be your pain meds?

Your headaches could be a withdrawal from caffiene or another chemical you are used to getting in your food.

If you are a subconciously a stress eater then your headahes could be caused by the stress you aren't dealing with. Perhaps some stress you dealt with in food needs a new outlet now.

I think everyone has second thoughts in the beginning stages. Hang in there. I couldn't count all the new post from new banders saying "I think I have made a huge mistake" or "I messed up, please help!" or "Depressed right after banding, should I call my Dr."

Just a helpful hint. I would write it down. Write down how your feeling not only for you, but so you can look over it before your Dr.'s appt. My Dr. asked me how I was doing emotionally and I hadn't really been paying attention. I was fine after my surgery, now after my first fill I was a hormonal wreck. It gets better.

Well I would have to say that I was a soda drinker. Always regular, never diet. And I lived on Snaple Ice Tea~talk about sugar shock!!

So I guess that can be a possibiity for a headache. And my Water intake is small as I never know when I should be sipping..10 min. , 15. min....ughh! I think I may have gotten through one bottle of Water yesterday and half a box of ice pops.

I am not taking any pain meds. I have them but am trying to get by without them as I am afraid I will get sick on them and I don't want to vomit anymore. Maybe I should just give it a shot. If I got rid of the headache I might be in a better zone with it all.

Did anyone sleep alot? I am not sleeping well through the night and during he day am napping almost constantly. I have two small kids so mayb I am trying to get it all in while I have my husband helping me out. Not sure though.

You should be sipping slowly all day. I drank Crystal Light or flavored

no calorie Water. Make sure crystal light has no caffeine. I was allowed diluted Protein Shakes. You might be getting dehydrated. Hope you feel better.

I had headaches for about two weeks after surgery. I found that taking liquid tylenol about evey 6-8 hrs kept them under controll. It will get better - good luck

It took me a full week to get the anesthesia out of my system. I was sick and couldn't eat anything for a full week. On Tuesday, exactly one week after surgery I suddenly felt better and can now eat. Good luck it gets better.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
