Recommended Posts

Wow Dawn! That's quite an accomplishment! I was banded April 9, and have twice hit plateaus! Stuck currently.

What's your secret?

I was banded 4.14.08. I lost 16lbs pre-surgery and only 5 since. But, I had my 1st fill yesterday, so I'm hoping to start losing again! (Although I'm eating way less, I haven't lost since going off the liquid diet a month ago) :rolleyes2:

OMGoshhh, i just visited DR. Luttrell last week. He is very personable. Tell me about your surgery day...Did all go as planned? When we was in that Seminar room, i was afraid that was the surgery center.... it looked kinda dreary.

fell free visit with me on yahoo messenger under melody_mary_42f

BLESSings to you

Name: Chilly

Date you were banded: April 15,2008

Weight loss to date: (pre-op lost 15) post-op lost 9

How are you feeling? I am feeling up-set with myself because I am not losing the weight as I thought. I am going in for another fill since I have no restriction yet. I have 3 cc in a 10 cc band and nothing. But other than that, I feel good and confident that I will lose weight with help from the band.

My start weight was 267 and I am currently 223 (stuck here for a few days now). I just joined a Gym and hope to get things moving again.

I will get my 2nd fill on the 25th of June. I have a 4cc band with 1cc in. I was getting kind of uncomfortable in my size 22 jeans and now I am wearing size 16. I Love My Band!!!!

Chillie,

Please don't be upset. You don't say how much you have lost but this is really a slow process. I also thought it would be much faster. I told my surgeon that and he said if I wanted fast I should have gone for the by-pass instead. He was happy with the 16 that I lost in 6 weeks. I thought he was going to be disappointed in me. My first fill has helped some, but I plan for another in a month or so. I hit the 20 pound mark today. I worked hard for that one!!

Hang in there.

Hi Bobbil, I was also banded on 4/21 and down 16lbs the first 6 weeks, at first I thought it should be more but then again I didn't gain it over night. My doctor was also happy with my loss. Since my first fill I have dropped a few more and my energy level is awesome. And that does count for something. 36_1_34.gif sig.jsp?pc=ZSzeb113&pp=ZNfox000

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
