  1. There are so many ways to incorporate exercise into your day. I park at the end of parking lots and walk instead of looking for a close spot. When picking up dirty laundry or toys on the floor use a squat instead of bending over. Instead of loading a bunch of clothes into the washer put each individual item in by squatting and lturning sideways like doing side to side twisting exercises. And as always, using stairs instead of elevators is a plus. The idea is not to have a particular time that you do a predetermined set of exercise, but to incorporate it throughout your day. This makes it not so tedious and daunting.
  2. My mom made a funny the other day....she is 65 and getting a little tight in her size 12s. What's even more funny is the fact that she never spend money on herself and the size 12s she's getting tight in are mine from highschool!!!!! She offered to "give" them back to me for when I get smaller. I told her thank you so much, mom...but when I'm a size 12 again I'm going SHOPPING for NEW clothes!!! I am getting there slowly, too. I'm down from a 30 to a 22! I got a new pair of jeans this week for fall that I'm loving!
  3. The scales are finally moving again! I had my fill Tuesday and am down 2 pounds as of today! I'm still able to eat the same foods as before but can tell a big difference in the amount and how full I'm staying.
  4. Hey gals. I took a break from my hectic life to have a fill today. I've got 7cc in my 10cc band now. So far i've been able to get down a cup of tomato soup and a spoonful of peanut butter today and i'm stuffed! It feels great to have restriction again, but the smell of my kid's Taco Bell coming from the back seat was torturing!! I did get myself a pinto and cheese that I'll eat tomorrow for lunch. My daughter Karsen started Kindergarten last week and my son Kaleb started prek. It's great to have a quiet house for part of the day so I can have time to myself. Now if I could just get my butt to the gym again! I'm spending so much time away from the family trying to finish up school that I can't fit in even an extra 30 minutes. I have started walking during my lunch break now that the weather is below 90 degrees and taking the stairs instead of elevator. So I'm trying my best to incorporate more activity into my day. Graduation is on October 18th. I expect to spend a lot of energy getting my house back in order after that. I have plans to repaint the kids rooms and work on the flower beds that have been greatly neglected. OH, and the anniversary weekend was great. I ate all the foods that I loved and didn't feel guilty and even lost another pound before my weigh in today. Guess all my extracurricular activities paid off!
  5. OHhh, I didn't even think about all the exercise I'd be doing!! I might loose 5 pounds or more!! Thanks for the encouragement!
  6. Leslie, I'm tired just thinking about gettin up at 6am to go running! You are an inspiration! I've been better this week so I hope my Monday weigh in is a success! Oh, man wait... my anniversary is Saturday, so I'm gonna eat something sweet and sinful!! No guilt, 17 years is worth it!
  7. Wow, if only someone would have paid for half of mine! Good luck with your studies!
  8. I've been a labor and delivery nurse for 15 years. Love my job, but wanted to be able to do more. I absolutely love what I'm doing now. I do distance learning through Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing. I am being trained in Women's Health and hospital midwifery and have delivered 22 babies in the last 2 months and get to do work at the office with annual exams, contraceptive counseling, prenatal care. I hope to be able to do it forever!! You should check out their website...midwives.org. They have a 12 month bridge program where you finish your BSN online then go straight to your MSN studies. You can specialize in family practice, women's health and midwifery. kathy
  9. Hey guys I'm back. Been away at work for a few days. I'm loosing my hair in handfulls too. It used to be thick and full of body, now it just kinda lays there. I'm pretty stressed out so that might have something to do with it too. I'm graduating with my Master's in Nursing and Women's Health Practitioner in 8 weeks and am studying for 3 final exams and traveling 4 hours from home for my clinical rotation. I've pretty much determined that emotional eating is my downfall! I'm gonna call tomorrow for a fill appointment. I'm tired of having to tell everyone that asks that I'm still at the same weight. It's depressing to tell them the same thing week after week.
  10. You gals have given me a pick me up today. Thanks! I quit posting because I was so discouraged at not loosing, but tonight I realize that I need the support to get back on track. In the last movie there were 4 musketeers.....can I be in the group? I'll just have to find the money somewhere to get a fill. I don't think my willpower is there and part of the plateau is my love of mexican food!
  11. gdf18-I'm so proud of your weight loss. I'm on a month long plateau right now. I try not to get discouraged, but at least I'm not gaining. The kids will start back to school in 2 weeks and I won't have an excuse not to go to the gym anymore. I hope that once I get back into my workout routine I'll see the scales moving again. I'm wondering if I need a fill, but the money is hard to come by right now with having to buy uniforms and school supplies.
  12. Congratulations on your weight loss! Keep up the great work! When is your next fill scheduled?
  13. You're so right Brandy. My provider does pretty agressive fills. I've got 6cc in a 10 cc band over 3 fills. I'm pretty much at my sweet spot right now.
  14. librarylady1.....I would definitely recommend him. He is very professional and I've had no problems at all with the surgery. I healed beautifully and my scars are pretty. Everyone on his staff is friendly and helpful... the receptionist, personal trainer, NP's. When I call with a question everyone knows me by name...that really makes me feel good. Rena his NP does the fills. She does them on Mon, Tues every week. And it's usually easy to get in. You don't have to make an appointment just call a few days in advance when you feel like you are eating too much or your weight loss has stopped. I've called on a Thursday and gotten in for Monday. The first 90 days of fills are free. She does use xray to find the port (which is great, because she does it on the first stick everytime!!) and the cost for the xray is $100. It only took 3 fills over 2 months for me to get to my sweet spot. You can PM me if you need any more info. I've got the diet plan and everything else if you want to look at it.
  15. WOW!!! Congratulations on a great weight loss! And i'm sooooo glad this fill went better for you!
