Day 4 POST OPP. - UPDATE!

Recommended Posts

what a difference a day makes.

what a difference gasx strips make. (thanks bandiva)

Yesterday was incredibly pain full with my gas pains. i've read and read about people experiencing these pains. it never hit home until I felt them. i felt like i had been kicked in the chest by Anderson Silva (must be a MMA fan to get the reference). if you don't know who Anderson is, think Bruce Lee.

I had a good buddy of mine swing by RiteAid and grab some Milk Of Mag and some GasX strips. i used 3 strips within 45 mins. and the gas started to leave my body -. and the relief came shortly thereafter.

i've used my pain meds about half of the time. and this morning i felt a small amount of pain near the port area. not bad, but noticeable. It was nice to have the gas pain somewhat lessened and be able to feel other pain in my body. this morning i took a tbl spoon of my meds and feel ok. i have a weird amount of energy today. I put on 5lbs at the hospital (IV Fluids), and from my weigh in of 353lbs right after surgery to now (338) - i'm down 15lbs. my face looks a little thinner and my stomach is slightly less plump. i still have a long road ahead of me, and that is OK. at least i am, like all of you guys/gals, being proactive about getting healthy.

i will say it's nice to look at all the crap food in my kitchen and to know that i can't have any of it. i am looking forward to eating scrambled eggs, oatmeal, mushies etc etc. this h20 and Protein Shakes are getting old.

i love the step i took. i'm proud of all of you who have taken it. and for those of you who are almost at your surgery date - stay excited - it's all worth it.

purpose - looking better, feeling healthier, living longer and doing more

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
