Yes, I just found out this afternoon that I will be banded on June 25th. I could have done it a bit earlier, but I'm a school teacher and wanted to be out on break. I am so excited! Good luck with your pre-op. My pre-op visit is a week and a half after yours. :cursing:

June 30th. It makes me nervous just adding myself to the list I feel like I've been driving 120 mph, and by the time of the Big Day, I will be going the speed limit. That is hard to imagine.

Hi, I just joined the site tonight after "lurking" for a few months and this is my first post. My surgery is scheduled for June 4 in Columbia, SC. I'm very excited! I started my pre-op diet 3 days ago and have already lost about 4 lbs! Good thing since I'd gained about 12 since the first part of Feb. It hasn't been hard so far although I'm sure I'll have my moments over the next 4 weeks.

I was scheduled for May 5th but got a really bad upper respiratory infection so had to reschedule - June 6th is the date! I'm excited but a little scared as I am going out of state to have it done and my sister was supposed to go with me - since the rescheduling, she can't go - going it alone!! They don't really recommend that, but I don't have a choice. I feel more nervous now about it than I did before. I'll be in a different state for 3 1/2 days by myself - oh joy! I am determined though to get this surgery done, so I will make it. Wish me well, I will need it!

I am also joining the June Bandsters. My surgery is the same as yours, Susanm, June 12, in Cincinnati. I mirror everyone's sentiments; I am scared, nervous, EXCITED! While I know my focus should be on preparing for this huge change and becoming healthier, I am still wondering "how much and how fast?" I have seen some people lose tremendous amounts of weight in the first few months and others toil on for longer. I am afraid of failing as I have in the past with other diets and am trying to gear for a steady, but slow, weight loss to keep from being discouraged if I am one of those whose weight sticks with me. When I am thinking with my brain, I know there are so many variables that determine the amount and quickness. Either way, I am in this for the lifetime. I want to spend the rest of my life enjoying good health and looking better in pictures than I ever have.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
