  1. Hello all I am in SW VA in HOKIE land and have started a lap band support group on my facebook. If anyone would like info to joing us send me a reply and we will get ya hooked up Our support group meets the 4th wed of every month in the montgomery room at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.:sneaky:
  2. Thanx for that allie... attention is good for the self esteem and self confidence but it can be a wolf in sheeps clothing too. Working through things and we are taking one day at a time... breathing in and out... and putting one foot in front of the other... some days an hour at a time.... sigh BUT... I did finally decide to go try a sport... I have noticed a few ppl doing sports as I was lurking :smile2: I went to a ROLLER DERBY practice with the lady who works on my shift with me... I had not been on skates in years and the couple times before surgery were a lot harder with weight and center of gravity issues... It was FUN... spent the night learning how to fall small and falling on my tail a time or two but the time out to myself with a bunch of ladies all just having fun was great... going back Sunday night to try some more:eek: well off to bed we go... had to talk some things out with daughter so we did not go to bed mad at each other... and now had to decompress myself... it's really hard not to go get some of that ice cream that slides past the band so easily:thumbdown: but yeah.... enuf of it already.... i r woman i will prevail against what ever comes
  3. before after... so far
  4. well guyz... it's been a while... not even gonna try to catch back up on boards since I was in last... been lurking for a while... been doing the yo yo with weight and exercise but have been moving in the right direction for most part. made it to ONEDERLAND and then.... bottom fell out of marraige and my world... and it's on my end... enuf said so old habits kicked in and I have been eating way to much of stuff i shouldn't... candy and lots of carbs... and got aunt flo at the same time:angry: so back up to 205... it will come off fast though working through things... seeing a counselor finally:ohmy: and I think that I will start seeing things more clearly and maybe make some decisions with me in mind ... and not just stay with what is familiar even if it is not what makes me happy... nothing to be worried about as far as being in an abusive situation physically or anything ... just alot of muddy Water under the bridge with the hubby ... and not sure if we can get thru it with the new baggage ive added... guilt and shame are hard to work through I have discovered... balance that with the fact that I have found a new self confidence and assurance and I give a counselor a run for the money.... arrrgggg well... didn't mean to bring a dark cloud to the otherwise great news in the posts... but surely I can not be the only one going through something like this????
  5. Allie you are a better woman then I am... If a 21 year old man were doing anything with my 16 year old daughter I'd have his butt in jail!!!! Naturally I am assuming that things would have gone that far. Working at Juvie has OPENED my eyes to what teenagers really do :0
  6. Wow mind is 2 days liquid, 2 days mushie, 2 days soft foods. I am getting another fill march 30th... cant wait
  7. Hey all... well after lurking for some time I thought I'd say hey... I'm still around:blushing: Well after of a gain of 2 lbs at my November fill appt  I maintained that without gaining or loosing... Of course eggnog and goodies didnt help. I think my fill might have been a little to tight then. I have had heartburn a couple of times and could only eat maybe 3 oz. and its funny how those foods that are full of carbs like ... lets say... fudge:drool:... will slide right on down through the band :/ Well ive gotten back on track since the first and am now past the big FIVE OOHHHH mark !!! I wanted it by thanksgiving but fell off the wagon with the eggnogg and fudge and the gym.... ugh i was way bad about not going but things got themselves quick started and im down 51 lbs now .... and im eating right and have been getting in 3 to 4 oz. and am never hungry... have to actually work to get in my water too... but have had no more heartburn in at least 3 weeks. Going to ask about if this is too tight or just my SWEET... SWEET spot... especially since we seem to get "looser" as we loose fat from around our stomaches... I have added a stick of livactive cheese at night for a snack with my 3 small meals and am averaging around 800 calories a day... but am burning at least that a day so I am usually in the negative for calories... I am up to "jogging" 2 solid miles when I jogg now!! Walk one to warm up jogg 2 and walk one to cool down. I set my resolution goal on nikeplus for 100 miles a month!! Oh yeah remember that little internet tool... the daily plate... well it's still there:cool2: and it even is useable with my i-pod touch... using the "tools" again and back on track!! I have been keeping track of everyone and have been saying my share of prayers for all the traverels, and those with recent surgeries, and job situations ( my hubby got the extended vacation most UAW workers did ) they are to many to list individually but have thought of you all and am back on track so from now on it won't be a book when I post. Here's to a great New Year:thumbup: And to a great network of :thumbup:Support:thumbup:

  9. Hey Grey... you can calibrate it for walking or running... I def. am walking. I try to get up to jogging and I get to the middle of week two of couch to 5k and my shins start bathering me :cursing:... I do eliptical too and it does not count anything for that... just running, jogging, walking I managed to break my toe and am just now getting back into it tho
  10. I try to avoid using public restrooms just cause yeah.... But after a two hour movie sometimes u just gotta GO well it was a Popular movie and the handicap stall was taken... I know im not hte only one who would automatically go for the handicapped stall and the extra room... well.... going in a regular stall is not such a tight fit anymore  Still rather go at home but ya know
  11. As with the surgery the stomache can swell from the fluid being added to the band. The liquids gives your stomache time to adjust to the new amount of fluid in the band, gives time for the sewelling to go down so you dont get "stuck" or irritate the stomache even more. My doctor does 2 days liquid, 2 mushies, 2 soft. 2 days of adkins shakes does wonders for kicking the weight loss back up so I dont really mind
  12. Ok we have 9 people in out chalange so.... WHERE IS EVERYONE???? only 3 of us have posted runs/walks so far... when you download your runs they will all be added from day the challange started... so DL them and lets go!!!
  13. I was mistaken... you can get the wrist band and the sensor together for 30.00 and just plug in the usb port thing and download your runs... you do NOT have to have an ipod that way... That is a cheaper way to be able to use the nike+ and if you get invited late after the challange starts it puts all your runs in for you from the date the challange started. Oh and if you want an invite whosyadaddy started one the same day I did and he had more people in his already so send a pm to whosyadaddy with your e-mail address and he will shoot you an invite for the LBT2 challange Just to let you know how motivating it is... my exercise ticker is for doing 30 minutes every day for the month of October.... I am ahead of the curve for the first time since surgery!!! Kim
  14. I have forwarded all requests to whosyadaddy If you send him your e-mail address he will send you an invite. It will also put in all of your runs back to the date that the challange started  Kim
  15. to my knowledge it is just the I-pod nano and the new ip[od touch (have an order in with santa for one!!) It is crazy motivating!! Especially with one of the guys in my other challange here at work with me. Have fun on that cruise
