Burping, Belching, and Passing Gas

Recommended Posts

Today was my first day back at work. I have a private office and spent much of the day erupting in gas everywhich way:eek: I am 7 days post op on a full liquid diet. I stayed in my office, afraid of erupting in public. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I think it is normal to be quite gassy after surgery that is done laproscopically or however you spell that. Just keep doing what you are doing and stick to low acid liquids. I used the gasx strips and found them really helpful. You can do this....just one day at a time...it gets easier I promise! (Just be glad you have an office! lol):biggrin2:

LOL, seven days post op I went back to work in the public, and MAN I was a gassing mess! But it's GOOD! Better out than in! It's totally normal, just have to let it run it's course!

I was banded on May 1st and am still expelling gas. Now that I am having a Protein shake during the day I have to be careful. Most of the time I have to be on the "pot" when I pass gas or else I may have a much more serious problem .

Luckily I run a daycare out of my house so I have easy & quick access to the bathroom.

I still feel like I have a bubble right underneath my bra line. I don't know if this is still gas or if it's the band...time will tell..... I had no shoulder gas pains and am thankful for that. If the "passing gas" is the worst of it, then I am happy :biggrin2:

My husband was banded on May 1st and last night he was finally able to get some relief from gas. I have never heard so much come from one human being in such a short time before. I finally had to laugh, but he felt SO much better. He never had any shoulder pain, but was glad to have the gas out of his tummy.

I wish I could have said it was just "passing" gas, mine was much worse ~ shoulder pain - I'd take passing gas any day over the gas shoulder pain so be thankful :biggrin2:

I'm 16 days post and am now starting to get my old self back and you will too!

I have been belching and gassing too. I was also banded on the 28th of April. I guess it is a cycle and I am glad that I have a private office to do it in.

I am also having that discomfort right in the middle of the chest below the bra line. I asked the support person at my clinic what it was and she said it was most likely gas trapped around the area of the band. I was worried that this was what the Band felt like and that I'd have to live with it from now on. Luckily, she said that it would "pass"

Thank you all! It's good to know that I am not alone in this and to receive assurance that it gets better. I was able to attend a meeting today at work SILENTLY! It was much better today. I am looking forward to continued wellness! Thanks for all the suggestions!

Banded 4-30-08

Yesterday I too had the problem with the painful feeling right under my bra line, belched all day. Was to the point of wanting the band out already! I finally passed the gas after an excruciating day, and last night for the first time I was able to sleep on my stomach with no pain, and today I feel like a different woman! I attributed it in part to the fact that yesterday was my first buzy day at work, and I had a 15 minute lunch break. I think I ate (drank) too much too quickly. all day I have been telling myself to slow down, and I feel much better. Gas is gone for whatever reason, either slower eating, or just finally passing what I needed to.

Good Luck, :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
