weird slightly gross question

Recommended Posts

I am still pre-surgery but thought I should start hunting for something before I start since I have a bit of low back pain now and a very active job.

Does anyone have a suggestion on really good girdle like underwear that will help hold my pannus in closer to my body until I get to have a Tummy Tuck? I know it is a while down the road but I know this will really be painful for my sciatica. I have a job that requires me to be on my feet the whole day and I already suffer some numbness in my left leg when I wear loose jeans instead of tight ones. Any suggestions of brands or what works best?

Hi:

I had my gallbladder out two weeks ago and I was telling my sister how uncomfortable it was just above my belly button, especially when I rolled over. She said I should buy one of those tight fitting panty girdle things. I went to Kohl's and they have a line of these called "Flexeez", or something like that. They're kind of expensive, something like $30, but worth it for the pain relief I got from them.

Good luck.

Sue

I hear really good things about Spanx----------personally trying to keep it snug all the time, just led to heat rash...it truly is a no win situation with a pannus. Hope you are ready for your TT soon!!!

i like the Avenue biker shorts one...

if you want SERIOUS strength, i recommend the ones i bought for my post Tummy Tuck.< /p>

nouvelleinc.com they will custom make one for you based on your measurements if needed.

the negative i found with Spanx is the crotch hole ... not so much. i would not trust myself going to the bathroom through that hole. the PS garment i have has one from front to back.

good luck.

I hope you are documenting with your doctor the back pain and hassle you are going thru. That way when the time comes a panniculectomy could possible and most likely be covered by insurance (that is if you have it) It is better to start documenting early on that way it is on record that this has been an ongoing problem. A panniculectomy (apron skin removal) is not as good as a Tummy Tuck (not only remove the skin but tighten the muscles as well), but if you wanted a TT and ins would only pay for the panni you could talk to the surgeon and maybe pay the difference.

I like "Lipo in a Box" they are firmer than Spanx or flexee - I got mine on QVC - I wear mine daily... My tummy isn't real bad - I just hate the muffin top look or back fat - These really help - the high waisted briefs.

Spanx & Lipo in a box are okay but if you just want something for your tummy without a panty or anything like that; I bought a "waist sincher" from Macy's, (or any large department store with a lingery department.) I bought mine a size smaller to support my back and hold in my panni. I am a police officer and my duty belt really effected my back. That waist sincher helped tremdously. It goes around your middle and has a hook and eye front closure, it also has the bones in it for extra support.

Good luck

usually by waist size 34, 38, 40 etc. They have some pretty big sizes trust me I wore them. IF they don't have them they can order them. I've also seen them in a few cataloges

Thanks for all the help everyone. Funny thing though when I was at my pcp today for allergies I said something about the front of my left thigh being numb and having a burning sensation and I would be glad when I lose weight so my gut doesn't pull on my siatica and he said losing weight might help but it is Meralgia Paresthetica. So it is a compression of a nerve....opps I was doing the exact opposite of what I needed to do. I will make notes on what to buy when things start flapping in the breeze....and we had a big breeze today!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
