Where is the poll? I do not see it- is it because I have to vote first? If so thats a bummer because I can't really be honest until I get banded. Anyone have any suggestions? Can everyone else see the poll at the top with all the results?

If my band messes up i will get a bypass, forget this messing around!

It seems to me to be so many people who have had problems (saw this before this poll) I dont know if I am only seeing the neggative but i would have never guessed so many people would have so many problems.

I think that most people that have a local support group or are really perfectly happy with the results are just not on here as much. I know that when my almost 4 year old is being an angel I am not on the parents board as much, but when she is being a terror I am looking for other parents to support me. Maybe the same is true here? I have read some of the horrorible experiences and I am still going for it if my insurance will pay for it. ~Mandy

I'm not 100% happy, but i'm pretty damn happy (85% maybe). I love my surgeon, i plan on giving her something very nice as a gift once i reach my goal. She is the perfect balance of supportive shoulder to cry on, but firm in her expectations.

I wasn't banded in Mexico so i can't answer those.

I voted that I'm 100% satisfied with my band and my surgeon but the following also applies to me.

If you had your Band removed, would you want a new one if possible? A resounding YES!!

Since I was just banded a few weeks ago, I feel a little silly filling out this poll. But I love my surgeon and, so far, my experience has been very, very positive. Run this poll again in 6 months and let's see how I'm doing then! ;)

hey Gin, if all works out i will ne having the lap band done by dr. barker in dallas tx as well in a couple of weeks. how have things went with you? did he do right with you and are you doing okay? i hope so and hope your weight loss goes great. i didn't ask him about the fills, does he do them at his office and how much are they? or does he send you to another dr, for those? also i i have medicare and i'm having to pay him his 20% up front but they couldn't tell me if i would have to have money up front for the hospital or if they would bill medicare and then bill me for the remaining balance? what hospital did he do your surgery in if you don't mind me asking? i know i have alot of questions, thought maybe you could help me out. i live outside of paris tx about 100 miles away from dallas, i hope i don't have to run back and forth to much. i notice some dr's do fills about once a month others about every other month how is yours going so far. well Gin hope to hear from you on your sucsess.. you go girl... thanks

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
