*hugs* It is totally tough to adjust to changing your habits on everything.

As for the Protein. I tried the Isopure and I was the same way, I couldn't stomach the smell or the taste or the fact that it left a film on my teeth. But, I got the New Whey Protein bullets and even though they have a bit of the whey smell and after taste, if you don't breathe while you swallow it down (it's like a giant test tube full of a gel like liquid), the taste and smell is gone immediately. I normally drink a swallow of something flavored afterwards. I can finish half of it in one swallow.

The designer whey, I've got the french vanilla, and i mix a scoop of that in with a chocolate slim-fast, a handful of ice, and half a banana and blend and you can't really taste the whey in that either. Plus with the slimfast and the whey, it's 28 grams of protein in one thing.

I know for me, I just try to make it through each day because if I start worrying about the future it is overwhelming. You've just got to make it through one day at a time.

Hang in there..Been there and done that..I had the exact same reaction and like you, I cried everyday for one week. I thought I had made the worst mistake, but I am 3 weeks out and thanks to everyone on this forum, (honestly they were life savers) I made it through. I am in the mushy stage and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

I had wonderful shakes. Syntrax was the brand..They taste like a milk shake and I don't mind drinking them..In fact, I still drink one per day just to get the protein..The best thing for me was to talk to my nurse...(she was a HUGE help) and to get out of the house. Just to drive to Wal-Mart and walk around was a great...So, the weather is getting nice, take a walk, take a breath, and believe in yourself . We made this choice because we were tired of living in our big bodies, this is our chance to be us..a healthy person. You can do it!! Keep logging onto this forum and keep talking to people ..it will get easier.:)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
