I was just curious if there were anyone out there from the Youngstown area. I have an appointment with Dr Vanek. I would love to hear about your experiences! Thanks! Chris :biggrin2:

I was banded in may 2008 by Dr. Woodruff. I believe it's the best decision that I have made and the office staff are extremely nice and helpful!

I'm still jumping the hoops, but hope to get banded before the end o the year. My PCP didn't document that he had me on a diet, so now I have to go through the 3 month program with Kim. the staff has been great so far. I'm starting the support gorup at the Jewish Community Center the last Wed. of the month. I'm hoping that will help me from getting discouraged.

How are all of you doing?

Hi:

I'm in the warren area, just starting out in the lap band journey.

Curious of any doctors that do this surgery.

Go to the Weight Loss Center at St Elizabeth's and Dr. Woodruff. He's great. I had my band put on in Novemeber and have lost 80 pounds. they work hard with you to help you succeed. good luck!

Just got the call this morning.

I'm too large for lap banding.

But, have been approved through insurance for Bypass.

Extremely frightened, but going to read up on it.

Thanks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
