You are wanting to lose about the same amount of weight that I needed to lose. I am very happy with the band. I didn't lose every single week like some people, but I never thought I would ever be a size 12 again.

There is an over 50's thread and we are all very supportive of each other.

You could introduce yourself there too and everyone will be glad to share their experiences.

Hi, I am also new to this site, actually the very first blog/forum I have ever responded to. I love this site and read it every day. I am waiting for the April 29th seminar before I can proceed with the band, I have found out that bcbs federal pays better than most insurance, and I do meet their qualifications, I am 5 ft tall and weigh 205 pds with high blood pressure. So hopefully by June I will be in "bandland" Has anyone else had bcbs federal insurance and gotten the band, leave me some details and info if you have. thanks, robyn

You should make a post in the section for insuance questions, and start

your own thread in introdutions. More people will respond to you if you have your own thread.

I have my first surgical consult on April 16th with the surgeon for lapband, I have read the message on this forum and the OCC forum and although it's not easy, but neither is any diet...but so worth it for extensive weight loss. I have been researching and reading everything insight and I am sure this is what I want. I have been over 200 lbs for quite awhile and have dieted all my life, so I need more than Weight Watchers, I need a life style change. I also bought a great book "Lapband for Life". You can find it on Amazon.com...it's amazing and contains everything you would ever need to know or want to know. Best of luck with your decision. If you have any questions, just ask! Cathy

What does that book cover that is not covered here at Lap Band Talk?

I am just curious.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
