Hey, how was everyone's surgery? Mine went ok, I am just very very sore. I got pretty sick when I woke up, but today I am feeling better. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I am not hungry at all, and in fact, I am having to make myself eat. Never thought I'd ever say that!!

Everything went well for me. I had a "pretty big" hernia they took care of, so there was some pain for a while. I did throw up about 20 yards from the hospital when leaving for home yesterday, but it didn't hurt and most of the gas came up so I've had no gas pain. I was comfortable sleeping on either side (hurt getting into position, however). Today, I'm just sore although I do have a fever. I haven't taken any pain medication since I left the hospital, just Tylenol. All in all, not bad.

Glad to hear you are doing ok. I too had a hernia..I guess it is common. I too took tylenol. Congrats to all of us on our new lives!!:cool2:

I'm glad everyone did well. I am having quite a bit of pain. They gave me some liquid pain meds, and it is helping some. I can only lay on my right side without much pain. Any other position kills me.

Everything went fine with me yesterday, but I am in so much pain today. The pain meds are working, but still sore in between. Hopefully it won't last much longer. I too am having problems getting comfortable and can only lay on my right side.

Well, I did it and there's no turning back now. I was looking forward to the band until they wheeled me into the OR room. OMG, I had 2 c-sections over 16 years ago and have totally forgotten that experience. The lights were so bright and then it hit me--I am going to be cut! Upon waking my throat and mouth was so dry and I couldn't cough. My abdomen was burning. If felt like such a big baby. I walked 15 minutes an hour for 5 hours. Finally PB'ed that nauseous gas up. And now its all downhill from here. I am still in Mexico and go home tomorrow. I came by myself and feel very brave and empowered. Still sore, can't bend down to pick up anything. But ok!

I made it to band land yesterday. Had surgery at 9:30 was in recovery waking up at 11am. To a room at 11:30. The staff wasn't real big on getting me up to walk, finally at 4pm I asked the nurse to help me up and walk. Seems they forgot I was being released that night. Haven't had alot of pain more discomfort and soreness. No pain meds yet but I do have them. I think the challenge now is getting all the fluids that I need. Glad to hear that you are all doing well.

Congratulations to all of us May 22nd bandsters. We are doing awesome. I am home recovering, was completely scared that my surgery wouldn't be completed for some reason. However it was completed, and for the most part I am doing pretty well. As you all have mentioned too, I am mostly sore at the port incision site. I have 6 incisions total, and the others are not too much pain. I slept fairly well, on my back or right side. We have two cats who like to snuggle, so I have to keep them away from my midsection. They know something is up though cause they are extra lovey right now. Ha ha. Hope to hear more from all of you soon!! Oh and I agree, really NOT hungry, how bizarre is that!?! Ha ha.

Hey all you 22nders!!!! We did it!!! I too thought that it might not be done for some unknown reason. But it is finished!

Still sore at the port site - actually it seems that I am sore a littler lower than the port site.

Drinking my liquids - no problem with that or taking my pills which was a concern of mine.

Just taking it slow!

I am feeling much better today, but I woke up with awful hunger pains! I am also having trouble with my bra. It is rubbing up against my incision.

Four days out and feeling better everyday. Now just trying to make sure I get enough Water, protien shakes and all the rest in. I dont fell hungry at all. Good thing the weather is nice makes me want to get outside and go for short walks. I planted all my flowers before the surgery. So I have time to enjoy them now. Looking forward to the mushy diet. Hope everyones feeling better.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
