I have a 10cc band and right now I'm at about 6ccs. I lost like crazy after my first fill and then it kinda dropped off. When I went in for a second fill we found out that my port had flipped so I couldn't get filled. I was able to get some more in during my port revision surgery but still don't have restriction. NONE AT ALL...I am hungry 24/7 if it weren't for knowing how hard I had to work to get this band in I probably would have gained at least 20 pounds already. I am awaiting a second port revision (that bleeping thing flipped again) hopefully after that I will get back on track.

I have 3cc's in a 10cc band (1 fill). No restriction at all - can eat anything. Still managing to slowly lose weight (good thing) but definitely anxious to feel restriction. I have a second fill scheduled for next week (April 22). Hopefully it will restyrict me some. I go monthly to surgeons office for fills/see nutritionist.

Hi all,

I have a 10cc band with 5cc's in it. I went a week ago to have another fill (1more cc) and I think it closed. I PBed and slimmed for 3 days, even Water was hard to get down.

I went back on Thursday and he took out about 1/2 cc and I'm fine. I have restrictions but somedays are better than others. I mean somedays I can eat almost anythign and others almost nothing without PB/slimming.

hey guys and gals, long time since i checked in but I have a 10 cc band and have had 6 fills and am at 5.5 cc. i felt noticeable restriction last fill and this fill seems to be the ticket. i did not lose or gain on the previous fills but i lost 5 pounds with my last fill. i was somewhat discouraged, but at least i wasn't gaining weight!!! I was banded 3/5/08 and my docs office will only do .5cc every 4-6 weeks so it has been shear willpower. but now i am here i can appreciate the time to really hone my chewing habits, my slow approch to eating, and eating more often so i don't become ravenous and overeat which prodeces pain and well you can guess the rest. so hang in there, it does happen, and it allows us time to change old bad habits. g2s

Hey yall

I have a 10cc band and after i my first fill i had a total of 5 cc's (1 cc was put in when i originally had surgery). I had like no restriction at all. I could eat anything. Lisa i felt the same way. Sometimes happy to pb just to remind i have a band in me. But my 2nd fill she put in 2 more cc's. But it was too tight. So she toke some out and now i have 6 cc's. Im a little nervous becouse im not at sweet spot at all. I dont get hungry as fast but i can eat alot of food. Im hoping my third fill will work.

I started at 275 and now (2 and a half months later) im 245 (give or take a pound or two) I need to work out more thats for sure.:)

I have a 10 cc Lapband and I had my 3rd fill bringing me up to 5.9 cc's. I was able to keep liquids and mushies down but solids were a challenge and i was coughing up at night. I couldn't get past 700 calories a day sometimes 500. But truly I couldn't eat more than that half cup. Anyway I had .3 cc's removed I don't konw what i feel yet today I ate quite a bit (1500 calories).

banded 1-18-08, lost 70 lbs and I have 8.8cc in my band. I actually had a fill dec 1,09 of .4cc this was done under the fluoro so he could make sure no stretched pouch and to get the downward release good. So he went tighter to see the flow stop and back up and then he removed a tad. need measured .4 fill. so I a good for another 6 months most likly. This was the first fill since Aug 09. I will try and go 6 months this time. Usually my restriction would strat to lessen after about 7 weeks.

Lisa you look great, WOO HOO! you should be very proud of your self..Sometimes I have to stop and look in ther mirror to make sure it is me that I am looking at.. I am only 5.2 so I need to be around 135, that is ten more to go. More cardio..

Lisa, looks like you've had fantastic results. Your pics are super inspiring. It's unbelievable to think you were only banded this past spring. Way to go!!!! Thanks for the post. I, too, have a 10 cc band. I've only had one fill with another one scheduled in early January. Not feeling any restriction at 2.5 cc. Hopefully fill #2 will do the trick.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
