Dr Kirshenbaum's Pre op diet....questions!!!

Recommended Posts

I started my pre op diet today and its a little harder then I was thinking it was going to be. Anyone out there that has been on this same diet with him have any advice on what you ate? Did you ever go over on the 3 cups of salad veggies or more then 3 oz of cheese? Did you have a lot of chicken broth? What were some of the items you ate??????

Im pre-op with Dr.K and i'm thinking the meat and salad is ok i didnt see alot of limits on the paperwork just no carbs no suger nothing fried..but i would cut back alittle since liquids r soon to come so you won't feel hungry and drink alot of water..all veggies r ok and make a vinagerette and olive oil dressing and you can have dairy from what i read..just nothing processed..i think this is much easier then whats to come...

You are limited from what I read. 2-3 cups of salad or vegetables 1 cup of other vegetables and 3-4 oz of cheese products. Most meats/eggs are unlimited. I am not starving to death or anything, I was just looking for some ideas of what people on this diet did, so I dont get really bored with it. Thanks!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
