What food/drink do you miss the most?

I have had popcorn. I waited until I was on solids and ate one piece at a time and chewed very well. It was strange to eat it like that rather than whole handfulls crammed in my mouth, but for an occasional treat those buttery bites kill the craving. And by occasional I mean for example I have only been to the movies once in 2 months. I do miss STROMBOLI. I used to get it alot. Thick doughy pizza dough filled with bacon, cheese, bell peppers, and a special ranch sauce then each end folded over, cooked, and sliced up. YUMMY but I cant even imagine the fat and calories. Its so good a friend of mine once told me the first bite was better than sex. I do miss that. There is no way that bread would go down. Oh well nothing tastes as good as losing weight feels.

I miss bread the most. Especially those hard, crusty breads they serve in Italian restaurants, dipped in olive oil. But alas, I know that if I try to eat it, I will get stuck for sure, and I'll have to excuse myself from the table. Don't anyone try to tell me that they can eat it just fine, because I choose to believe it would nearly kill me. It's easier to leave it alone that way! On previous diets, I always gave up wine, and I missed it lots more than any food. My doctor says a glass of white wine with dinner is just fine, so I do indulge a couple of times a week. That's why the band is going to work for me permanately. I don't feel deprived!

Okay I won't tell you I can eat bread just fine.I don't think I could eat something like Wonder bread though. I miss pizza. I really had to force myself not to get a thin crispy one this past weekend. I know I could eat it, but I gained 2 lbs from my daughter's birthday party, which I am trying to take back off.

I also really miss Dairy Queen Blizzards. These are both things I could eat easily, but choose not to.

I didn't really miss soda til one day last week when I was in the convenience store trying to find something lo-cal to drink. I was so thirsty! Man that soda looked good! But, I got a flavored Water, got in the car, and forgot about it.

I missed popcorn, too. I tried the light butter kind the other day and it went down okay. I only ate a little, though. I used to eat the whole bag with butter, cheese and whatever else I could throw in there.

Try those little 100 calorie bags of microwave popcorn. If you really have a craving for it, at least it's only 100 calories. It goes down just fine.

It's the doughy things that don't work well. Crunchy things go down very easily.

I am a bad influence. pop corn goes down without any problems. As long as you aren't on a post op diet, you can figure it into your calories.

They even have 100 calorie microwave bags of kettle corn. I don't think it's as good as the butter flavor though.

Peanut Butter and jelly probably wouldn't work if it's on that doughy bread. It probably would on toast though! I told you I am a bad influence!

Ok - so I sound like a commercial for the band, but I have to say it....

I can't think of a food I miss the most because I can really eat anything....just in small portions! I choose not to eat simple carbs because I lose more weight that way. But really - that's why I love the band! I want something - I eat a few bites of it - I feel full and satisfied - I don't need to binge and eat the whole thing.

So I can't eat celery anymore because it's stringy. Guess what I say to that? Thank Goodness!! The stuff was never any good unless covered in Peanut Butter or cream cheese anyway. And if you need to use something to dig out the Peanut Butter or cream cheese, use a spoon for crying out loud.

Becca, I am the same way. I was just at my support group tonight and my surgeon came and spoke. He said the way the band is supposed to work is that you can eat whatever you want in small portions. That's exactly what I do too. If I want something, I am satisfied with 2 or 3 bites too. I haven't had to give anything up. I did when I was too tight, but after a tiny unfill, life is great in bandland!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
