I went to Dr Alvarez's seminar in San Antonio

Recommended Posts

I went to Dr Alvarez's seminar in San Antonio last Saturday, and I have to say I was very impressed. He went in depth about every aspect and I feel very confident about him. I had a very long list of detailed questions that I gathered from the sticky Researching Mexican Doctors ( thanks to WasaBubbleButt). I keep him there and extra 45 minutes with my questions all of which he answered in great detail. There were people that had been banded and sleeved and If the hadn't had the before pictures I would never have believed they had ever been overweight. All in all it was a great experience and look forward tho having my surgery done in the very near future.

Hello, I will be banded by Dr. Alvarez on May 9. So, everything was good there? I've done quite a bit of checking but it still feels good to hear something positive.

Everything went very well...the room was newly remodled and very nice. The hospital is older but i was very confident with Dr. A. so i didn't let that scare me. Good luck. if you have any questions let me know:smile2:

Hi, I was just banded by Dr. Alvarez on March 25th and I have nothing but good things to say about him and his staff. He went out of his way to make me feel comfortable, did not rush me out of the office before the surgery, showed me around the hospital, took time to answer all questions-I mean the man acted like he cared about me! He came to see me 2 or 3 times after the surgery and again the next day before I was released. His staff was also very friendly and made sure I was comfortable with everything. Also, his staff has been in touch with me since the surgery. I have complete confidence in this crew and would highly recommend them to anyone.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
