Un-fill scheduled for Friday...

Recommended Posts

I can't see the value of eatting 1/2 cup of soft food the rest of my life! Sure, I can get some Soups down and sometimes late at night some real food, but I am not interested in a "quick-fix". This is going to be something that I am going to live with for the rest of my life.

I have lost 5 lbs the past 11 days and I just think that is too fast too. I want a 1-2 lb weight loss per week.

Am I crazy? I read some people are begging for restriction, but good grief, I would like to eat real food just not so much of it!

I am at 1.6cc. I was at 1.cc before my fill. I am thinking of asking him to remove .2cc to put me at 1.4cc.

Any thoughts?

Alice, I agree! The band is made to work w/hard Proteins. Soft foods go right through and leave you hungrier sooner. Just a tiny unfill will make all of the difference in your ability to eat the right foods. Good for you for "thinking"!

Alice only you know how you feel. , personally I think you are being a very responsible bandster, we have the rest of our lives to get to goal.

Having . 2 removed can make a big difference in the foods you can eat but yet stil lgive you enough restriction to still lose weight.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I had to have an unfill, and I'm hyper when it comes to needles, so you know I must have needed it. I think you're taking a step in the right direction.

Absolutely agree that you're doing the right thing. Being banded is not supposed to be torture. Let us know how it goes!! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
