Yes, me to! I had surgery march 24, last monday and still have shoulder pain, I am walking, heating pad, deep breathing helps, laying on my left side helps. I cants wait for that to go away! I had hernia repair also, so I have a lot of chest tightness and pain, does anyone else have this?

I was banded on 3/28 and have been doing fairly well with the gas pains. I figured out after the second day that most of mine were caused by taking in too much liquid to fast. Since then I have been measuring out all of my liquids... my limit is just under 3/4 of a cup. If I sip it slowly I do not get gas... If I don't well then my body lets me know.

These pains can come from a different source also, not only gas. Don't forget that the surgeon was pushing a lot of organs around when he or she was in there. A surgeon explained to me that the diaphram can become irritated and stay that way longer that the gas stays in your abdominal cavity. I am four days post op and I feel this when I take a REALLY deep breath in my chest and just behind my shoulder blade. Pain killers help as does walking around.

My shoulder pain hit me a week after surgery, it just came out of no where and was TERRIBLE, I ended up having to go to ER for pain shot. And was sent home with a couple of pain pills for later.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
