back to liquids..bummer!

Recommended Posts

Well, monday proved to be to much finally, I got to the point I couldn't swallow my own spit (I had posted earlier about the violent coughing possibly swelling my stomach and getting tighter) called the surgeon, told him of my dilema, he told me to come and and get unfilled (even though I haven't been filled yet, he said there is still Fluid in there)

I showed up did the "fill pose" and I am still tender around that area considering I was banded recently and she attempted to find the port..a couple of ouches from me and she numbed me, after that was alot better, she said she removed a tiny amount of fluid and tons o bubbles..

I was able to sip on Water after anf they put me back on liquids for 3 days and then 3 days of mushies, I actually was on regular food for a whole 3 days before this happened.

I still feel very tight, water is a chore to get down, it still feels like it's having a hard time going down, they don't seem to worried about it, like I do.

I will be calling them again tomorrow if I still fill the same in the morning, I realize I am probably still swollen, and I am still coughing violently, but not as much.

Being sick sucks! being tight witrhout being filled is rough...

I think I am going to ask for a test to see if any damage was done with all this coughing it just doesnt feel right still, but could be swelling

good news is I am down 37 lbs on my scale now!:)

After every fill my doc puts me on 2 days liquid and 2 days mushy foods. So I know, that in my first year, since I have to see the doc every month, 4 days of the month are going to be liquid and mushy.

Soreness is a part of the banding process, you will look back 3 months from now and realize that despite the complications, it was the best decision you ever made.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
