Anyone have feedback on Dr. Jamie Ponce in Dalton, GA? I am having surg. 3/23/2005 and am having the nervous jitters. Any positive remarks would be helpful. Eliza

Hi, EC, congratuations on your upcoming banding! Wow, that's Wednesday!! We have several Dr. Ponce' patients. I'm sure they'll respond soon. Have you tried doing a "search" (at the top of the page) for his name? I just wanted to wish you the very best of luck. How much weight would you like to lose?

I had surgery with Dr. Ponce in September and although my weight loss has been slow, I have been very pleased. I feel like I have made some really good changes and that the weight will never come back. I loved Dr. Ponce and his staff. They are very friendly and knowledgable and are very easy to get in touch with if you need something. Good luck. You're gonna be so glad you did this.

My wife had surgery on July 14, 2003. He has been wonderful in seeing to the needs of my wife. His staff is also very helpful. I enjoy going to the support group meetings myself! Keep us posted on your progress!!!!!

How is your wife doing now? When I come for my fill, I am planning on coordinating my trip so I can attend a support meeting. Which group do you go to? Isn't there more than one?

You know, my husband has felt that there is not enough support for the spouses..i.e., what to expect after surgery. I am two weeks post op and was very moody once I got home. A lot of it had to do with the stress of two children, 2 and 6, each with the throw up bug during Spring Break!

Other aspects of it had to do with not having time to myself to adjust, and being in pain and not being able to explain it to him.

How long did it take for your wife to really recover? I fell good, but I am not 100%.

Take Care, Eliza

Our group meeting is tomorrow night. My wife took a little while to get back to 100 % but now she is doing great! Maybe we will see you there!

I would like to know how you all are doing now. I have a consult with Dr. Ponce from GA. on Aug. 28, 2007. I would like feedback on any complications and positive's or anything else that may be helpful in making my decision.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
