Calling all April 8th Avengers!

Recommended Posts

The sucky thing is that I never ate a regular diet the whole time I was losing. I was on predisone and mushy or liquid diet so much....I never even got to try to eat a piece of steak or chicken. No, I take that back, I did eat some tiny bits of chicken a couple times) I think I ate one salad....it came up. I love fruits and vegetables. I couldn't eat them because I wouldn't have room to eat them after my Protein.....which was eggs or baby food or slim fast. I had 2 pieces of pizza. Total. Small pieces.

The only thing I learned was that I really wish I'd never heard of lap band. Randy is losing patience with me and tells me I need to get over this but I am so freaking angry I just can't hardly stand it. I know that I will probably need to see someone professionally to get over the anger. I am so pissed I can't stand it. My blood pressure is totally outrageoius. It was 210 over 115 the other day. I'm back on 2 extra meds. now, I have recurrent gout on my foot. Am taking prednisone coz of gout, can't take anything else because of kidney disease. I feel so trapped. I'm not looking forward to them taking out tube from stomach on Tuesday. I think I just want to go to bed and curl up.

Oh Carol my heart goes out to you..I feel really bad that this has happened. I too would really be pissed if the band failed for me. I wish I lived close to you so that I could give you a hug, but since I don't I'm sending you these..(((((hugs))))). I will pray that you start to feel better soon. Please take care of yourself...get that blood pressure under control....Email me any time. Later....

WOW! I've never checked out this thread because I was banded on April 10th. I wish I knew all of you were in here having hard times. There is a handful of other April Avengers in the main thread (Calling All April Bandsters) that still post. I would love it if you all would join in.

We need each other and this is a great way to get and give support. A few of us are now logging on The Daily Plate to see if that helps too. Many of us have stalled in the weight loss, experienced some band troubles and are trying to get back on track. Sounds like we all could use each other!

Please pop in or PM me...I'd love to hear from you!

~Carol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
