Cookie Diet

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone has tried the cookie diet? A lady at work is on it and lost 11# in a week and her husband lost 12#. I have heard of it but never looked into it. I was just wondering if anyone has tried it?

I've seen the commercials.. and my final decision on it was that I got he lap band so I could quit dieting. Lol.

And i just imagine that the Cookies will taste like the APEX ones - NASTY!

Same as all the diets I did before....as soon as you eat other things, the weight comes flying back--with extra!!!

I love not dieting anymore!!!

That's funny, I always heard people make fun of the 'cookie diet' and I thought it was a joke.. just making fun of all the crazy diets out there.. then the other day in Publix.. there it was.. the cookie diet. I started laughing right in the middle of the store.

The pictures of the Cookies look good, but I'm with Kat.. you could eat nothing but 1 thing for a while and lose weight, but it's not teaching you good habits or helping you maintain.

I had a relatively 'chubby' girl friend in highschool, and over the summer break she became skinny. I asked her what she did, she said she ate a reese cup pack every day and nothing else. 1 cup in the morning, 1 cup at night. She lost about 35lbs in 3 months. Eureka!

You know I did a "Cookie Diet" while I was an au pair in London one summer about 15 years ago. The woman I worked for claimed it was an American craze. Yet none of my family in the States had ever heard of it.

It worked a bit like slimfast in that you replaced 2 meals with a large cookie which was suppose to contain an assortment of Vitamins and minerals. The difference was suppose to be that it actually gave you something to chew and make you feel fuller than just drinking slimfast would. As everyother diet it did seem to work while I was on it but once I was off the old habits came back and I regained it.

I was shocked when I saw them advertising them recently. No idea if it is the same company but must be same concept. The ones I had years ago actually tasted pretty good. They had everything from chocolate, oatmeal raisin to a pretty good lemony cake cookie and if I remember correctly a carrot cake one too. Before you ate them you also were suppose to drink 2 large glasses of Water to help the cookie swell in your stomach to make you feel full. Post band I wouldn't reccomend that part.

I know the band is suppose to help us put diet's behind us but I wouldn't be above trying it again to knock off some of these last stubborn pounds it the hope that the band would stop the regain. Though I'm not sure if the Cookies might not be too hard to eat without getting stuck.

Ha ha, I was thinking the same thing. Knock off a few # during a plateau. I don't know about the Water thing either though... I do the protien shakes still but sometimes still feel hungry.

We have something similar here. Limits biscuits. The idea is you replace 2 meals a day with between 2-4 biscuits (cookies). If you get the chocolate ones, then its 2,if you get the savory, then its 3 or 4. I just think that so isn't enough to fill my tummy!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
