6 Month Anniversary Today

Recommended Posts

I posted this on my blog, but I had to post it here because I am so happy.

Today I am down to 230. I went in yesterday to get a fill. He have me .3ml so I am now up to 2.4ml total. I'm hoping that he didn't overfill me. I can drink liquids, but only a couple of bites of actual food. Not that I'm complaining. I really don't care how much I can eat. As long as I'm eating a bit and am losing weight, all is good!

I am officially down 60 pounds today. I have 50 to go to get to my goal weight. I am firmly in size 20s, and in a few 18s as well. MOST of my closet is now worthless. While my eating addiction is now under control, my spending addiction is not!

I find that I am now more excited about non-scale victories than I am about the scale itself. In the next couple of days, I will be in the 220s...a place I haven't been since high school. But I am WAY more excited about shopping at Old Navy and in the regular sections of Walmart and Target (for one or two items).

Things are more enjoyable for me. I never let my weight stop me from anything...I still went horseback riding, hiking, kayaking, etc. But now, it's SO much easier. I don't have to worry about looking stupid...or, more specifically, fat. I looked fat in the saddle. I looked fat going down the river. I was the fat girl struggling to keep up (but I DID keep up). Now, I look so much better...and it's all EASIER!

I have moments where I feel bad about this being so easy...guilty even. It's not all easy, but it's a LOT easier than my previous diets.

The hardships are such that I don't mind them. So WHAT if I can't eat more than three or four bites! So WHAT if it hurts when I eat too much! I had 32 YEARS of eating too much! So WHAT for ALL of it! The benefits are SO worth it! I'm not even talking about the health benefits. I KNOW there are so many of those. I didn't really have health problems beforehand. I wasn't depressed or anything like that. I know they would have some soon enough, but I was blessed. I'm totally talking about superficial benefits. I look better. I get attention from men. Even better than that, I get more attention from my HUSBAND. I feel better. I can DO more. It's just amazing. Better than I ever thought.

I know I have been so blessed for this to work out so well. I hope and pray that it continues to work out so well. This was one of the best things I have ever done. It's not easy...I have to do quite a bit different...but it's SO worth it.

Here's to the next 6

Jennie,

We sound like we have the same story. I have lost 64 pounds (as of this morning) down to 231!

I'm with you on the new clothes and the size 20's and 18's! I am so excited, and I am happy for the both of us!

I also agree 100% about having 32 years behind of us being able to eat whatever we want, now is the time for restiction and good eating habits.

We're going to be smokin' hot in our 30's...Woo Hoo! :tt2:

Jennie and Gloucester! Are we lap-bad triplets or what? Your stories are almost exactly the same as mine. Sizes are the same and everything...18's hug my thighs a little more than I want them too right now so I stick to 20's.

I had the awful displeasure of being 305 lbs before and lost down to 189 by doing Atkins and being extremely stressed about life situations. Well, after life got better I gained all of the weight back and was back to 299.

I am so happy for the restriction. I have been eating out of control since I was 8 years old and now I have learned that I can survive and still be healthy with much less food. I am happy that the QUALITY of my life is so much better!

Oh, yeah! And SMOKIN' HOT??? It won't be long!!!!

We are Lap Band triplets! I also dropped a bunch on Atkins (only 50, though) a few years back and bounced right back up to 300 in no time!

I know what you mean about the restriction. I've read on threads that people fight it or work around it - but I LOVE IT. It makes me feel normal.

Yeah, the 18's fit, snugly and my butt looks better in 20's. I am trying not to buy too many new clothes, but I had to buy the 18's - just because they fit!

It has been show going. 5 weeks after surgery I ended up back in the hospital because my incision opened up. I took 6 weeks for that to heal. Had my first fill in late November, second in January and third last week. I have also had the flu and bronchitis. The flu shot did not work this year. Because of being sick I have not been able to exercise as much as I would have liked to. Hopeful with the weather changing so will my health. Even with all my health problem I have been able to lose 52 lbs:thumbup:

Bravo to ya'll! I am hoping to not be far behind. I hope to hit the 60's soon. Maybe my next fill wil give me that push I need, but for now I am happy losing the inches. Maybe we will all hit the 100 club at the same time, that would awesome. Best wishes!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
