Arm Exercises

Recommended Posts

It genetics. My mom has fatty arms, I have fatty arms. No amount of weight loss is gonna get rid of these ugly arms - only exercise.

I want so bad to be able to go sleeveless this spring/summer. But NOT with these bubbly arms.

Anyone know of some good exercises I can do to help firm up and get rid of some of this ugliness?

Paula I use a 5lb dumb bell weight and do all kinds of arm exercises while Iam watching TV...I do 1 minute on each arm without stopping and 5 different exercises., when Im done I have put in a good 10 minute arm workout, I have noticed a difference..The Fitness magazine March issues has a good arm workout page . The fitness magazine every motnh always has great exercise's to do with minimal time and effort that target certain areas. I have been enjoying my subscription to it.

My trainer came by yesterday and we discussed this very issue. I too have rather LARGE MONDO arms. Genetics too Paula. Thanks Grandma. LOL!! Anyway, I have been using the skimpy 2 lb weights and am working up to the 7 lbers. I have progressed now to the 3 lb weights. I am doing a butterfly, tricep curls (UGH), pull downs, etc. Like Michelle stated The Fitness Magazine has lots of good exercises. You could also check out Ediets.com in the exercise section. I know they explain and have a slide show of all their exercises.

Since working with the trainer I have lost 1 inch off my arms. WHOO HOO!!!

Oh an Paula, I too have the flabby arms but it doesn't stop me from going sleeveless. They don't like to look at my arms then they don't have to look. LOL!!

Yes , But try it, seems like it is not much but 1 minute of consecutive exercises w/ 5lbs , your muscle burns. Then I switch arms. Then do a different arm exercise so when I am done I have actually done 5 minutes total on each arm without rest. , it is plenty, my arms are shaking afterwards. And I do this every night, I just followed what my fitness magazine said, it was an article on toning arms in just 10 minutes a day..so far it seems to be working :(

I find lifting my 20 pound book bag seems to go the trick for me... I just have to remember to use alternating hands to lift...

Penni and Michelle (and anyone else),

How often do you exercise your arms? And how long till you noticed a difference - less flab?

Cookie to the mouth, cookie to the mouth. OOPS, I made a funny! Hey, Paula, ask Penni about my arms. Dr. Billy's assistant was even impressed with my guns because I lift heavy weights. It's the only thing that's ever worked for my arms. I have some turkey wobble underneath, but I've got strong arms with good definition. I bench press 40 pounds, 3 sets of 10. Then I stand up and pump above my head. Then I go to 20 pounds for bicep curls. It has to burn, and your really have to push, but you get fast results. I don't use weights anywhere else, just for arms.

Don't be too impressed, because I only do my arms! I figure my arms are the only thing I'm legally allowed to walk around with naked. It gets around 115 in the summer here, so tank tops are not optional, they're mandatory. I wish I had the time and attention span to do the whole bod!

My arms aren't bad for a fat middle-aged broad, and I credit my dog. She's 80 lbs. of wild child, even at five years old; when she sees a squirrel or rabbit, she pulls like crazy, and I pull back, so I get kind of a rowing-machine workout several times a day without a gym membership. My mom, at 74, has decent arms from doing the same routine with her big critters for the last 40 years. (No, I haven't hit the genetic jackpot; I have my dad's arms.)

Dog-ercise won't work if you have a Chihuahua, but I highly recommend it if you have a largish pup -- and the walking helps too. So don't buy a Bowflex; just go to your local animal shelter for workout gear!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
