Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Recommended Posts

So I went for my "unfill" today. She took out .4 cc's. That still leaves me 6.4 in my 10cc band. I can certainly tell that I am not quite as restricted. I was able to eat a decent lunch and dinner and haven't felt the need to PB. I just finished a bottle of gatorade, which I hate, but she said I was dehydrated. I know I haven't been drinking enough. It's hard to drink when I have been staying so full. She said she really thinks I have just been plugged up with mucus from my allergies. I have an appointment to go back in 2 weeks if I feel like I am not restricted enough. She said if I need it she'll put back in .2 and see if that works. I'll just be thankful if I can sleep through the night without waking up with that horrible acid reflux. It was worse than when I had a hiatal hernia before surgery.

{{{hugs}}} Tammi! I will keep my fingers crossed that you can get a good nights sleep tonight!

I have not posted here in a while but I had my surgery on 4-11, I went to the doctor yesterday for a fill and found out I have a leak in my tubing or my port :-(

I was going to the fill center until last month when my doctor decided to break away from True Results and I thought it was odd that when he put .3 in me band I was at 6.7 but according to the fill center paperwork I kept I should have been at 7.0....well when I went back yesterday I had 5.7 in my band. I go back on 12/29 to check it again and decide when I will have the tubing and port replaced :-( I am a self pay but they are going to see if my insurance will pay anything.

Amy, so sorry to hear about that. They thought I had a leak at one point, but it turned out that the woman who measured what was left in my band during the initial surgery was wrong. They are always sure to check mine now every single time to make sure.

I hope your insurance will cover it. I was self pay as well, although my insurance company paid for my hernia repair and they put my band in at the same time so it saved me lots of $$.

Please let us know how your appointment goes on the 29th and what they decide to do.

Thanks everyone. I had a great night's sleep. No acid reflux. Today I am still not eating a lot, but was able to get in plenty to drink so I think the unfill is helping. I was just afraid it would take away all of my restriction, but so far, so good... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that that was the key!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We have Santa pictures in the morning, a birthday party in the afternoon, gingerbread house making and then Christmas with my mom tomorrow so we'll be busy, busy!

Hopefully they made a mistake in addition or in the last fill. My docs made a calculation error and ended up with the band amount and the charted amount not matching. When it mismatched, he sucked it dry and then blew it full and made sure that after about 15 mins fully full that he could withdraw the exact same amount. Since then all has been fine.

Good Morning all! I have been out and about and so busy with xmas stuff... I think I am finally done with my shopping though

No news to report here. I still weigh 200 on the dot. If I wasn't so lazy I would go running to finally make it under 200 but I am in a slump of no exercise the last couple months so I only have myself to blame hehe. Motivation comes and goes. I am starting to love how I am looking now though. I can wear any size 14 jean and even some of thsoe are too big. I bought a couple pairs of 12 that I can squeeze into.

I think I traded food addiction for shopping addiction tho! The people I pass my clothes off to are really happy though. My new found favorite store is Aeropostale though... since I couldn't fit into their clothes before I guess thats why. I love the jeans there though... They don't stretch out and fall off me 1/2 way through the day.

haha forgot I wasn't blogging.... Sorry for long post!

Enough about me! How's everyone doing?

I have not purchased many new clothes yet. I am in a size 14/16. I finally got rid of my size 18 since my daughter said I looked like I was wearing clown pants. hehehehehehe

I am not ready for Christmas yet. I need to pick up some gifts for my daughter. She is having lap band surgery on Friday! that is her big gift for Christmas!

So... I was cleaning out closets yesterday and looking for a dress to wear to church last night. I tried on several dresses that I have had for awhile and it was quite comical. I looked like a little kid playing dress up! I now have the huge pile of clothes that I know I'll never be able to wear again... I am so OK with that! My husband came home and asked what in the world I had been doing. I was all smiles. Especially after I put on my size 12 black skirt and cute new red shirt to go to church in. My ex husband was there and he kept staring! It felt good although I felt bad for him, too. He never wanted the divorce and even though he's remarried I don't think he's ever really gotten over it. Anyway, I have 35 pounds to go to hit goal. I cant' wait!

What a great NSV! I have a walk in closet that used to be filled with clothes all hanging and then 2 shelves that line the whole length of the closet... It's almost bare now. I go in every once in a while and come out with stacks and stacks. I can't wait to hit goal then totally refill it.

Congrats again!! You're doing awesome

I am so excited for her! She is on the liquid diet right now so she is not a happy camper. I am happy that she will be healthy! She is going to knock em dead when she goes to college!

It won't be long. I just put on a pair of 14's one day and I had to pull them up all day. All of the sudden, I was in 12's. And truthfully, once I am a size 10 all over, I'll be happy. I don't feel the need to be too tiny. I have big horse bones anyway. As long as my BMI is normal, I'll be happy!

Yeah it's weird and everyone talks about it on the forums.... But I almost completely skipped a size during this weight loss.. While the numbers on the scale stop now and then I end up still losing inches and going down in sizes.

I can't wait to hit a 10.. I would love to see a single digit on my clothes though

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
