Hi Jennifer - Yes you are worth it !!!

I love my band for the great tool it is - I love me for doing the work that it take to lose the weight - I am 7 months out 76 lbs lighter. Feel 200% better and 10 yrs younger.

I eat healthy 98% of the time - I exercise 3-5 days a week depending on my schedule - For me it hasn't been that hard - I went thru major surgery to get this tool - so my head is totally in the game - I know that I must make a lifetime lifestyle change in my eating and exercise habits - this is not a diet but a new way of life.

It's not the magic cure to our issues with food but it is a geart tool to help control your portions. All you have to do is eat healthy and add exercise into your life and you will do great.

For lunch had 1/2 soft taco - and brought my chilli relleno home for dinner - well guess what - I didn't want it -I wanted fish & veggies - so that's what I ate - I am no craving healthy foods ....

Good Luck on your journey...

Hey Jennifer! Congratulations, you'll be having surgery on my birthday! I'll be sure to say a special prayer for you that day.

I was banded about 5 months ago. This is absolutely the best decision I've ever made regarding my health. I've lost 72 lbs so far and I feel so much better. Having started out at 330lbs, my exercise was a little limited. Now that I lost weight, it's much easier. I do not exercise like i should, but now that I feel so much better, I am going to start it back up again because I do think it is an important factor in this process.

Before my surgery, I started practicing taking very small bites, chewing until my food was pureed, and not drinking with my meals. I think this really helped me after I was banded. These things have become second nature to me and I don't even notice them anymore.

More than anything, this band has helped me with Portion Control. That is the one thing I could never do pre-band. Somewhere along the way, I have developed much healthier eating habits. After my surgery, I tried counting calories, tried low-carb, etc. Those worked temporarily for me, but now I find myself just trying to eat a healthy balanced meal and so far it is working. I still stay away from bread, mainly because I don't think I can stomach it. This is a "learn as you go" process and you'll soon find out what you can and cannot handle.

Congratulations and good luck in your lapband journey!

I don't know if you have found the "BLOGS" section yet, but lots of us have a Blog where we journal our thoughts and progress though this journey. I started one and now I don't know how I ever lived without it. There are some wonderful stories on there too!

Hi Jennifer:

Congratulations. If you're anything like me, in a few months you'll be saying that you love your band and wish you'd done it sooner.

I started a modified weight watcher type diet three months before banding, and now it's just over ten months and I'm down 112 pounds! I feel so much better. My feet don't hurt. I sleep better. I certainly look better. I exercise 6 days a week - 5 miles per day. I can wrap a normal bath towel around me now, instead of a beach towel. I feel different when I walk into a room, not like "I'm going to be the fattest person in the room", because most of the time I'm not. My daughter is proud of me, and so am I.

Good luck.

Sue

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
