I am scheduled for May

Recommended Posts

I like the Magnificant Mays as well. I would like to stick with having M's in the title.

I have all my appts. made now. The UGI and the PST testing is on April 30th and the pre-surgical with my general md is on April 22 and with my surgeon on April 30th. I have my last appt. with my dietitian on April 21st. I was told that I may either be on a liquid diet for one or two weeks depending on my BMI.

I am glad to now see more future May surgeries. Here are some more adjectives to form more May names. Mascot, minimal, marvelous, memorable, meticulous. I am not good with making up names but I see some of you are.

May 8th, here I come.

May 7th is my date! Finally!

I've been "in process" for about a year. Ready to get rolling......having it done in Paducah, KY. Dr. Argotte.

I expect to be a slow loser. BMI of 37. But as long as I'm losing, even if it takes me a year, I will be happy. Looking forward to swimsuit weather NEXT year! LOL

Well Southern Missy, I do believe you got it.

Marvelous MAY minimizers

I am not real familiar with this forum. Who decides on the final title of our May surgery month? I will go along with any title.

I am so trying to start a bit with more Water every day. I know it will be struggle for me to be on a liquid diet pre-op and post-op. I just have to pray alot and ask for help to get thru those weeks. I have to keep my eye on the long-term goal. food isn't everything. My husband is my biggest and best supporter. He knows how much I want this and have been working on this for a year now with the doctor appts. etc. I do not plan on telling friends. So far only one girlfriend knows, I probably should tell at least three more of my gooooooood friends. They will feel hurt if they are left out. I just don't want a lot of questions afterwards.

I want MAY to come soon.

Mae - I know how you feel about not wanting to tell people. I have only told 4 people and that is all I plan to tell. 3 close friends and my mom. My DH is very supportive as well. That is all that really matters to me as this is my body, my choice.

I just told my mom Sunday and specifically told her that I wasn't telling people but she took it upon herself to talk about my business as she usually does. Another lesson learned for me.

I am anxiously awaiting May, but I have to wait almost the whole way through! BLAH!!! Oh well, it will be here before we know it and I will have all you guys to tell me how it was.

I like the Magnificient Mays.

Mae, we will definitely have to keep in touch since we will be going through things at the same time.

As far as not telling people about my surgery-

I have told my parents, brother, sister-in-law, a couple of close friends and my supervisor at work. I haven't told any of them not to tell anyone. I wish I would have told my supervisor and I think I will when I let her know when I will be taking off work for the surgery. I really don't mind family and close friends knowing but, you know how it can be at work, there are always a few Nosey Nellies that can be annoying.

Anyway, ready to vote whenever for our name. I liked them all really.

Look forward to keeping in touch w/everyone!

Mely-you are pretty close to where I am from. I live in Evansville, IN. I think you are like 2 hrs. from me?

I tried to make a logo. I am just trying it on for size as we haven't decided on our title yet. I will try to make one for Marvelous MAY Minimizers, just not sure where to start.

Yes I am close to you and I travel to E'ville fairly often. I work for the VA and travel to the E'ville clinic there.

It's nice to meet someone close by.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
