I am SOOOO EXCITTED. AND PETRIFIED ALL AT ONCE. I got insurance approval (CIGNA/HMO). My out of pocket will be $1000.00, well worth it.

i have to say I love these boards. You give me such inspiration. I am on day 2 of Optifast. I have to stay on it until Band date. I am so hungry right now, but reading these boards keep my mind off of it.

Welcome! The pre-op diet is hard but it's important to shrink your liver so that your surgeon can visualize the organs. You'll also have less pain post-op. You'll find a wealth of info here so read, read, read, and ask lots of questions.

Hey Nana. My surgery date is the same as yours. I start the low carb diet tomorrow (Friday) then the liquid diet next Wednesday. I'm scared and excited all at the same time also. This site is a GREAT source of information. I'm so glad we have it to lean on. Good luck with your surgery.
