How many CCs in your small AP band?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering how many CCs you have in your small AP band and if you feel that you are at the right amount of restriction. I have 7.7 ccs and feel that I still don't have proper restriction. Anyone this high or higher before you felt proper restriction? I can eat a lot of things that most bandsters cant eat....sandwich with white bread, thick crust pizza, Pasta, rice, tortillas, etc. I know I'm not supposed to eat these things but knowing that I can makes it that much harder not to. Thanks.

After 5 fills, I have 7.4cc's & decent restriction. I don't believe I'm yet at my "sweet spot", as I do control myself by Diet & Exercise - not just the band. My Dr told me early on that I would more than likely need to be over 8cc's to get the restriction needed & I'm inclined to believe that after having fill #5 last wk - and only notice a "slight" difference .... I can eat faster than I should & can gulp my water/drinks - and in watching my husband (also banded) he easily takes another 20mins after me to complete his meal & sip his drinks (he's @ 6.5cc).

Breads/Crackers - I can't do, that's the only difference from fill no 4 to fill no 5 - qty of food remains the same.

I just had my 4th fill; I'm at 6.5 cc. My nurse-practitioner said so far she has not filled anyone with the small AP above 7.5 (however, I think I was the first one in their office to get the small AP). I went 3 months between this fill and the last one, that I now think that was about a month too long!! I can still eat lettuce, chicken, etc and probably more food than I need to though.

I have had four fills for a total of 6.5 ccs. I am close to having the restriction I need, I think. Didn't really feel ANY restriction until my 4th fill. Have my 5th fill tomorrow and hope this is it!

I have 6.5 in my 10 cc AP band. This in 3 fills. I cancelled my last fill because I have great restriction. May have to cancel again!

I was banded 1/15 and have a small AP. I went for my first fill last week. The PA thought I would have 5cc in my band from the OR report. Ends up there was actually 7 cc's? How did that happen. Had not felt any restriction up to that point. She put 0.4 in for a total of 7.4cc. I still don't really feel any restriction. I get full faster, but still get hungry in between meals. I think a bit more will be good and am pretty thankful I've bypassed 3-4 fills to get to this level!

Good Luck

I had two fills and have 5cc's in the 10cc AP band, and I am restricted most of the day, except at night.

I have 2.35 in a 4 cc band and do not have much restriction at all. There is nothing I can't eat :-( and as of this time I have only lost about 31#. I keep hoping that soon I will hit my "sweet spot" but you know that I have self inflicted non weight loss - and I admit it!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
