Dr. Aaron Hoffman - Lap Band done in Buffalo, NY (Dr. Hoffman)

Recommended Posts

It was alot of reasons the Dr Hoffman's nurses and the fact I just didn't feel supported by them. I shouldn't have to be defensive with his some members of this staff.

I'm sorry Bugs, is there anything any of us can do for you? Did you cancell your surg. already?

Ya know this has been an issue since back in Sept. 07 when I first went to him for my surgery. He has had so many problems with the staff @BGH. I'm going to suggest you contact him ASAP. Go through his personal Sec. Lisa @ 859-4024 let her know you want to talk with him. He is way to good and dedicated to this program for this to happen. Please don't let this issue slip past. Make your voice be heard to improve the department there. Will you give an example of whats been happening? If you need support let me know.

Cynthia

I don't know what anyone can do? I did cancel the surgery yesterday. The person I spoke to told me that some members of hie staff are mean on purpose. I told her that with me I wasn't having it.

Well that's not a good enough excuse. Noone on his staff has the right to do that to anyone. They may think it's okay and work for some. Not everyone needs that type of care or lack of.... You have come so far we can help support you on what ever you decide. I really believe Aaron needs to know his staff is doing this... Remember he's in charge and he's out for the best for all his patients. He can't correct or fix what he's has no knowledge of when he's not around.

I just talked to Dr. Hoffman and he told me that people have complained about this staff member. So I'm considering having the surgery anyway.

I believe you should, don't allow this bully to keep you from the healthy life you want and deserve. I tell you what. If you ever want to book our appointments back to back since I go in every 6-8 weeks I'll help or join with your appointment and this staff member will never ever bully or make you feel the way you do right now ever again. Would this member be Barbra?

Bugs,

Im glad to hear you are going to go on with the surgery. Its your life and no one should make you change your mind. I think that the band is a wonderful tool that can change your life and it would be a shame that someone could take the oppurunity away from you.

As far as pain meds they give you a perscription fro liquid codine. I dont even think I took it more than once. Codeine makes me really nauseous.

Good luck and keep us posted

Rain:smile2:

I'm actually surprised to hear other people have had trouble with his staff - aside from one less then pleasant woman in the sign-in office, I've never encountered this bully.

It's good to hear you are reconsidering though! Don't let a miserable bully derail what you want!

Post surgery they gave me liquid Lortab. it worked, but made me veeeerrrrrryyyy sleepy.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to bring for the day of surgery?

Not that much to be honest. Loose clothes going in you can wear going home. This is what I had with me. Your in recovery most of the morning/midday and the following morning you go for the swallow test and the next thing you know your going home. Oh reminder at your pre-op have them write all your scrips and fill them before going in for surgery. This way you have it once you get home if you need it!!

Slippers & Robe of course.

Book (you may not even read it).

sleep apnea machine if you require one. Theycheck!!

Undies (change)

Brush & tooth/paste

Lip balm & small size lotion - you get really dry after surgery.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
