wow! thanx for all the support guys, I don't quite understand it myself, I was thinking maybe cause they are getting busier we old timers are being left behind, I'm not sure, but it seems to me that I was put on the back burner, and I don't care for it either. I am down to 198 and my hair is falling out and my nails and skin is dried out. I don't mind being tight, but this is crazy. I think I am dehydrated cause i can't even keep liquids down and my coumadin level is down below normal cause i can't keep my meds down.

well, I am going to find out tues. what the problem is cause messing with my body like this is scary. I will keep you guys posted, and thanks again for your concern.:)

Vicki, what happened at the doctors today ?

shar

hey shar, well, I went in and he seemed shocked that all this was going on... he says why didn't i call and I said I did 2 weeks ago and he seemed perplexed. I think the guys got too much on his plate to be honest with you. so he said he wanted to go downstairs and look at the films from my barrium swallow and so i waited in the exam rm. He came back and said my esophogus was stretched and I created another pouch above the band from the food being stuck for so long, and that there was swelling and irritation to the esophogus. So then he did the unthinkable and deflated me. Oh my God, I cant believe it but he said I need to heal so he deflated me and I am suppose to drink liquids, protien shakes, Soup, etc. for 10-14 days and then mushies for 2 weeks, and then see him on july 7th at 1:00. I am so scared I am going to gain weight, cause I was so starved when i left there, I have been eating all day, everything in sight and drinking Water like crazy cause i was so dehydrated I can't get enough to drink..so now I know, I have no restriction at all, cause everything went right through the band, everything, I have not restiction what so ever! I am going to be fighting with myself the next several weeks, and until he decides to give me some restriction again. I know I shouldn't complain, cause I truly was miserable and I did not want to be that tight, but i thought he would tweek me and I would be able to eat and drink, but not be totally deflated. any way, I guess I do need time to heal and I am just going to have to chomp the bit and eat healthy and stay focused. thanx for all the support, and let me know how you are doing also. vicki

Wow, I can't believe that.. Maybe you should have called back sooner and insisted that someone see you. Maybe it wouldn't have been as damaged as it is now. Well, just go easy and do what he says.. you have to heal now before you go back to any restriction. Good luck. I am feeling some restriction but not as much as I would like. I did have my first sliming episode about a week ago ( first in 6 months - not so bad!!) and I hope I done have any more so now when I feel stuck or any discomfort, I either stop eating or proceed with caution .. very slowly. Hope you feel better.

Vicki,

Yikes. Too bad they didnt help you sooner like they should have. Like Shar said maybe you should have been seen sooner.

I know it would be really hard for me to eat healthy but just think you need to heal your band so you can get back on track. Good luck and keep us posted.

You are both right, Today, we have to be our own health care advocates and I should have insisted, but it is what it is, and now I can only go forward. Let this be a lesson to you all that tight is not always better or even good. I drank my nasty protien shake this am and wish I could turn the clock back, but I can't. take it easy on your esophogus girls and if your too tight insist on getting in asap. vicki

P.S. I gained 5.3 lbs since yesterday, I drank so much Water, about 80 oz and never peed. I guess my body absorbed it like a sponge!

Vicky, soon you will be back to normal and back on track.. Just heal up and get better.. You have still lost alot of weight from the beginning and you will never go back to square one.. thats for sure !! Just maybe watch the carbs and stay on SB phase I or II.. It'll be ok soon.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
