Full Liquid Stage Recipies

Recommended Posts

I am on full liquids and also supposed to drink a Protein shake (15-20g of Protein, no more than 170 cal) between each meal. My favorite Protein Shake so far is EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control (17g of protein, 110 cal for 11 oz.) I got a big sampler pack of protein mixes from Vitalady, but I haven't enjoyed most of them. The Syntrax nectar and nectar Naturals have been the most tolerable. I think I will just stay with the EAS or get some unflavored powder to mix into my regular drinks.

For Breakfast I have been having Healthy Dairy yogurt smoothies. I am terrible about getting up early enough to actually make Breakfast, so I need something fairly quick. lunch and dinner so far are usually a strained cream Soup (cream of chicken, cream of mushroom, etc) or watery oatmeal (Weight Control). I have tried meat baby food thinned with broth a few times, but the texture is just gross. Last night I made a concoction of pureed lean beef with beef broth and a little cream of onion Soup, with tasty results. Unfortunately I think I ate it too fast and it was, well, miserable. I am back to watching the clock with my sips/spoonfuls.

I'm pretty sick of my cream Soups so I'm glad to see some more full liquid ideas here for when I go grocery shopping tomorrow. :tt2:

I hear you on the cream Soups. I'm tired of them!

I have been able to tolarate the Campbell's chicken and stars. The chicken (what chicken you can find in one can) is really soft and the stars are tiny and easy to chew, chew, chew.

Tonight I mixed together some rocatta cheese and left over Tomato sauce (more sauce than cheese). Heated it in the microwave for a few seconds....yummy!

Hello February Bandsters,

I just now found this. I am Grace and I was banded 2/29. I just started full liquid phase today. This has been hard so far. The surgery was fine and not too much pain. I just don't have much energy. I crave everything I can't have (mainly because I still cook for the family) and my stomach growls at me! Today I am going to the nutrition store to find that Protein powder stuff to sprinkle on Soups. I am glad this website is here so I don't get so discouraged. I really didn't expect to be hungry this week. The nurses all said week two was worse. I surely hope not. Also, I have teenage daughters and didn't tell them I was doing the surgery. (Jury is still out as to whether that was a good idea or not) The big issue is next week is spring break and we will go to Destin with two other families. I will be in the mushies stage. I am kind of stressing out about trying to keep this a secret. UGH! Wish I didn't have to go next week and I could just stay home alone with the dogs.

Keep those food ideas coming. I need some flavor after the week of broth and clear junk!

:teeth_smile::crying::eek:

i have a Protein shake in the morning, vanilla powder Protein stuff from trader joe's, add 1 cup milk and a banana and a pack of splenda and crushed ice. blend and it's like a yummy milk shake at 263 calories.

I have mashed potatoes and put some cheese on top (add garlice sometimes) and put in my big muffin tin (holds 1 cup each) and bake for a while, eat one with no fat sour cream. and put the others in fridge and or freezer.

I take 1/3 of a can of spicey refried Beans and sprinkle a little cheese on top and heat up. then i mash up 1/2 avocado and mix with no fat sour cream and layer on top and a couple tablespoons of salsa on top. very yummy. this can add up to 400 calories so it's my dinner.:)

i have also found that if i eat too fast or too much my left shoulder pain comes back in full force, had to take 2 pain pills once but someone told me this is a soft sign for those reasons...I'm learning!

i have not had on PB or sliming yet...i'm greatful for that.

had a fudgecycle at Bingo the other night and it was only 130 calories! it was good but was melting every where before I could finish it.

sugar free pudding cups are only 60 calories.

I'm trying to stay between 900 and 1000 calories now that i'm in the mushy stage. :sneaky: are you counting calories or anythng everybody?

Jeanie

I haven't tried a ready-made shake that I really, really liked yet, but I make my own that are pretty tasty. I take one scoop of 100% whey chocolate Protein Powder (Wal Mart), and blend in the blender with a handful or two of ice and a splash of fat free milk. I add Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup and spoonful of reduced fat Peanut Butter. Tastes like a treat to me!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
