How to Target Under the Arm Flab??

Recommended Posts

I look at the area under my arms, and above my bra strap and my heart sinks and sense of accomplishment disappears :)

What sort of exercises can I do for this area?

i think any chest type exercises would help this area too (if we're talking about the same area - im talking about my side where the fat rolls up over the bra) and my 'bat wings' for arms...

try a chest press on a ball and flyes on the ball. pushups would work too. i do regular ones and standing (leaning) ones.

i know it gets discouraging sometimes, but it does pay off in the end!

for "batwings" would 2lb weights help?

I was doing "kick-backs" (tricep extensions) like crazy until I realized it was just working the BACK of my arm and not the underside, so-o-o

I now use a dumbell that I hold verticially with both hands. I lift it over my head and drop it down behind my head as far as I can reach, then raise it up to just above my head and then back down again. I do four sets of eight: two with my right hand on top and two with my left hand on top.

You CAN just hold the dumbbell with one arm and do each set one hand at a time (but I find I can use a bigger dumbbell using both hands).

This is a bugger of an area to hit, but this one really works for me... Good luck! :scared2:

Pull downs should help this area too. I refer to this area as "back boobies" too...because the flab doesnt just hang over the sides of our bra....YUK!

Any lat exercises if you have access to a machine will help, if not, then yes, the dumbell drop down over the head one. Also pushups and tricep dips on a chair will help that area, and swimming is good for it too.

I do the pull down, underhanded grip. then I work my sholders with barbells, I do this machine where you pull back it works your upper back muscles then a back extention that works your lower back muscles and this awsome twisty machine that works your side abs. (dont you love all my technical terms)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
