This is the first time I have been on this. I had my surgery on Jan.24. Everything went great! I lost 25 pounds the first 2 weeks, and now I havn't lost anything. Have other people gone thru this? I have my first fill next Friday. I can't wait! I want to start losing again!!!

Hi! Welcome to LBT!!! What you are experiencing is perfectly normal. 25 pounds in two weeks is a fantastic start. Many people (like me!) don't lose any weight until we get restriction. Hang in there and get your fill. Good luck!!!

Kristi you are doing good 25lbs that is awesome. Sometimes we come to a stand still and you may not be dropping pounds but inches instead. Might want to measure your self to be sure but in the coming weeks I bet you will see the pounds start to drop again. Good luck on your first fill.

I did the same thing in my first two weeks. Just be strong until your fill. I could eat anything and everything I wanted until my second fill. Just work on not gaining while you are at this crossroads and you will be ahead of most people! Good luck with your band!

18 pounds is great. I am in the same boat. I lost about 25 pounds the first 2 weeks, and I havn't lost anything since. It is very frustrating, but it is a long process. I am waiting to get my first fill next week. Just keep your mind on how good your going to look this summer! Thats what I keep telling myself!

I lost around 12 pounds initially, then went on to gain about 4 back in my first week on solid foods! Aside from the occasional plateau, I'm now losing at a steady rate of 1 to 3 pounds a week. I was banded in sept last year, so I'm now 5 months out, and I've lost about 45 pounds. I went 3 weeks without losing a pound in one of my plateaus, and was considering a fill, but then the weight started dropping off again. I have been very fortunate not to need a post surgery fill yet.

You sound like your doing great! I hope I start losing again. I am going to have a fill! I need it, I am eating allot more now! I guess I thought this was a quick fix. But it does take time! I am going to keep working hard for bathing suit season!

Kristi, you'll see a whole new world after you get your fill. Banding is not a quick fix and we all have to learn that our own way. Good luck!!

Rbuchanan, you might want to start a new thread asking for info and support; not many will see it here. Can you give us more details? Have you had a fill? Are you exercising and tracking what you eat? Start a new thread and you'll get lots of feedback!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
